Renaming HG

    Most people want HG renamed to hunger games form hardcore games again in order to attract more players. However, Lionsgate said that mcpvp can't name HG hunger games because it violates her copyright.
    Anyway, one of the big minecraft servers recently released a new gamemode called "Hunger Games," and if Lionsgate hasn't made them rename their minigame then I don't see why Brawl can't rename Hardcore Games to Hunger games.

    It's the way search engines work. If someone types "Minecraft hunger games" something named "hunger games" is more likely to pop up than something named "hardcore games."

    Maybe not much but when I was searching for HG (way back when) I wanted an HG server, if I saw Hardcore games I probably wouldn't give it a shot.

    Lionsgate never said that. The words "Hunger Games" is not copyrighted and can be used by any server that want's to use it. The only reason hclewk ever decided to change to Hardcore Games is because he wanted to be original. If you want to take me up on that, tell me, because Ill go for 15 minutes digging around my personal messages with him.

    @BlueGuyARed If you had never played a match of hg in your life and you were searching for a Hunger Games server, you googled it and you found two servers. Hunger Games and Hardcore Games, which one would you play? Most people would probably chose the former, just due to the fact that they are familiar with what the Hunger Games are.

    PS: I understand why its called Hardcore Games, and why everyone is hesitant on changing it back, im just pointing out one of my opinions.

    Really? If that's true it was very stupid on his part. Wiki made a whole post about the lions gate situation

    Does it really matter? I'm not a huge hunger games player but I know that brawl isn't going to be #1 in any hunger games/hardcore games list so I don't feel that it would have any impact.

    It does matter, because it depends on how search engines work. A search engine looks for a server with the most similarity with what the player puts in the box. For example, if a player searches for "Minecraft hunger games server," a server that has a gamemodes named "hunger games" will appear before one named "hardcore games."

    Your missing my point, people who search for servers look for the server who can give them the best experience (not that brawl is in any way bad) however HG is not what brawl is focused around and there are other servers that ONLY do HG and many players play there for the best competition and the overall best HG experience.

    Even if it was renamed it wouldn't bring in anymore players than it already does.

    I know that HG isn't what Brawl is focused around, but this is a thread about HG, not war, CTF, or anything else. Renaming HG will only be a positive thing, not a negative thing, so why are you against it?

    Good point, absolutely no reason not to.

    I'm sorry but Hardcore games is an unattractive name. Ugly name and doesn't describe the game well, I can't count how many times people have thought it was UHC
