Forums Maintenance Report

    Hello,

    Yesterday the forums underwent maintenance to update them to the latest version of our forum software (XenForo). All of our addons have also been updated and fully tested to ensure they are performing properly.

    With the update, comes a few changes:
    • Tapatalk has been disabled and removed.
      • The addon was only being used by ~12 users a month and provided a plethora of issues.
    • Useful Links in the forum footer
    • We removed the "Featured Video" section on the sidebar when viewing the forum list.
      • It will be re-implemented when we have another YouTube video to share.
    • We added a "Recent Posts" section on the sidebar when viewing the forum list.
      • This shows the most 5 recent posts on threads that you are prohibited to view.
    • Anyone can delete a private conversation message for up to 15 minutes.
      • This was implemented mainly for users to delete duplicate messages.
    • New forum users now receive a forum message with tips to starting the forums.
    There are also a handful of changes from the Xenforo team:
    We already had some of these features due to our addons. Feel free to recommend uses to anything you see, however, we will not be enabling "thread tags".

    If you are wanting to add extra security to your account, you may do so by setting up 2-step verification at https://www.brawl.com/account/two-step. (This was a big motivator for us to update)

    You should make it so that resource packs show up in most recent thread. Currently they don't.

    I know... I was one of the users too... a tragic fatality we have suffered today. It made it easier for me to stay up to date on new threads and replies to my threads by sending the notifications straight to my phone... Maybe there is another substitute that will be better than tapatalk that will work on a phone and send push notifications directly to my phone :chicken:

    Could set the forums to email you for every alert you want, then have an email application on your phone.

    Hi! I am very upset that the lobbies on brawl won't work as it is my favourite and first server I ever had and I cannot enter build or anything so please help :frowning:

    This seems like a great update, I'm sure others will agree. I like that you have added the help guild for new forum users - this will help a lot to keep activeiness on the forums. Thanks.

    Try direct connecting to a server like creative (creative.brawl.com) from there you can do /play (game mode)

    Other than that, this update looks great from what I've seen so far.

    So moderators no longer need to feel obligated to post about the rules, etc, because of this? Because I mean, if we have basic tips and rule links within that PM (which I'm sure we do), then there's no reason to restate it in a post.
