I hope it stays at 1.8. For how little I play, I still fear for those who want to enjoy the game.

Most things about 1.9 are cool, like how they are nerfing armor and enchantments (in a way), but the cooldown should be removed. The cooldown does not work with soup very well; it becomes effortless to soup. Anyway I want 1.9 to be added but only with the cooldown removed. Otherwise I support 1.8.

 

I definitely do not want the sever to update to the 1.9 update when it comes out. It can let you make literally thousands of variations of weapons (found here), but the cool down kills it for me. The cool down is such a shame. I know the heads of Minecraft wanted to make the PvP more skillful and tactical, but the way they made it happen isn't good. It ruins PvP completely in my opinion. PvP has been the same way since the very beginning of Minecraft (technically) in Alpha 1.0.0. It was always click to strike with the sword. In the new 1.9 update, the cool down negates that ability, making it significantly worse. My overall decision is a no unless there is a way around the PvP changes.

I know the question was about 1.9 in general, but this thread is in the Survival PvP section, so I talked about PvP.

 

The cooldown in 1.9 can be completely and utterly removed using simple commands.

 

Perhaps update it to 1.9 but make it so there is no cool down on sword hits. A new spawn. Perhaps add salvage although it would be quite OP.

 

all the items are just NBT tagged diamond swords. They're not obtainable in survival mode, and the only reason they look like that is because of a resource pack. As a pack maker I'm going crazy, but in reality this changes very little. Good for RPGs, no effect on PVP. However, I think that the other changes will hurt PvP. Luckily, they can be reversed with some command blocks, and, therefore, it's possible to have 1.9 as 1.8 with a mod. Finally, maybe 1.9 won't be horrific.

 

We still dont know, let's start that no one has test PvP in brawl at 1.9, so we are complete clueless of how it's going to be.
I think that 1.9 is just an transition version, heading something complete different way of game. Just like Microsoft did with Windows 8.0, it sucked, but it was because, as i said, was an transition version heading to something usefull and better (W10). I think there should be a test phase.

 

I'm excited about the possibilities of the different weapons used for warfare I think it will make PVP very... interesting.
Now I can use Betty though.

 

Tbh I think Brawl is going to have to move to 1.9 in order to still receive new players.

Microsoft's ultimate goal for Minecraft is to make it cross-platform so players on the PC, Xbox, and the PE edditon can play on servers together. (This is going to be fun, killing noobs who can't move because of the PE's crappy controls)

 

Then it's our duty leave feedback when that happens

 

I'm excited about the new mobs and gameplay, but I'm not so sure about the new PvP. I'm not sure if it's possible, but maybe if we could update the gameplay, but possibly make the PvP 1.7 or even 1.8.

 

I would love the map to be in 1.9, but without the pvp cool down. Other than that, 1.9 is great imo. A new spawn, team changes, and rank additions would also be cool.
