Why Brawl Should NOT update to 1.9

It doesn't matter if some people find 1.9 as a terrible update. Eventually, the majority of players will update to 1.9, if you like it or not. Same thing happened with 1.8, 1.7, ect.

Hey, haven't you heard there were commands that can change the attack speed of the weapon? You can use those commands to make the swords normal. Although it may be alot of work, or it may not be possible in servers like these, but such commands exist! Don't believe me? Then look it up. I even tried it myself and made the weapons I have be at normal speed. You can also change the damage it does when it hits certain body parts. Reply to this reply (REPLYCEPTION!!! i know, I'm bad at jokes :'( ) if you agree or disagree. Maybe point out some things to me and maybe I can make a solution to that. Thanks for reading this reply. Then, maybe we can like, NOT use sheilds and Elytra in HG and just use commands to make the swords at their fastest, and make them do 7 damage on any part of the body, like it always did. Am i the only one who thinks that the swing cooldown thingy is a good thing!?
Seriously though, running around in circles and spamclicking is pretty stupid tbh! :v
Also, if you say that swing cooldown ruins combat because of soup, just make soup having to be eaten like any other food instead of being insta-consumed...

 

After reading this thread and all of the different views, I am changing my decision. I think it would be a good choice to update the server. It doesn't have to be soon, but eventually, it would be smart. 1.9 changes a lot of things, good and bad, but there is just so much that can be done. As it's name implies, the combat update will change PvP greatly. For servers like KitPvP and Survival PvP, there are some questionable additions like the sword cool down, but things like that can be coded out and removed. Also, killaura is most likely much less useful due to the cool down, hopefully decreasing the amount of players using it. Lastly, in response to supercandymax, I feel like whenever there's a big update to Minecraft, it feels like it's being modded. This is most likely from the plethora of new additions and tweaks.

 

Sure, and we can add guns and fly-hacks to HG as well.

 

@chickenputty and @Signatured have told us that one major reason of the decrease in the amount of players is the fact that brawl's still 1.8. That's a important reason to update to 1.9.

Just play 1.9 a bit more, and you will likely love it.

Actually its going to be the other way around. 1.9 will fall apart because of many bugs.

Can people stop saying that just because of 1.9 and some players updating to it means that there will be less players? That is a retarded argument considering half of the players hate 1.9 and it completely ruins PvP.

Many huge PvP networks probably will never ever take 1.9 in their servers considering that. For example Kohi and Hcteams aren't even planning for a 1.9 update.
Another HUGE PvP Network, Badlion, is only planning to update their servers to 1.9 if a trend shows that at least 90% of players enjoy 1.9, which we all know will probably not happen for a good while.

So stop saying that just because of 1.9 there is a huge chance of less and less players coming to play a server that actually is compatible with a good version of Minecraft (1.7/1.8).
