10 servers

I think it would cut down on lag. Reason being is that however much RAM we have is spread out between 20 servers for MC-WAR, however many MC-WARZ servers we have, minecraft party (RAM taker), minestrike, .Team-HG (however many we have), and mc brawl. Condesing MC-WAR to 10 severs would cut down on lag on all the servers but a decent amount.

 

Each box hosts 4 servers.
It's not that bad.

 

I never knew that, still. Less boxes = more money to get more RAM.

 

RAM doesn't make as large of a difference in server performance than you think it does.
CPU speed does.
And they can't upgrade that without switching to a new, better server box from their host (or whoever hosts it), which would require them to transfer everything again, because IIRC, they're still using flatfile right now, not SQL.

 

Seems well thought out.
With less servers there is the possibility of having ideas become limited as said before.

 

Agreed, I sometimes like the smaller matches, since it's more fun in my opinion.

 

A little offf topic, but its stored in an SQL database, which is how stats stay updated from server to server.

They said they were transferring to SQL for the big update.
I wasn't aware it's in SQL right now.
It hasn't updated, so I would assume it's still flatfile.

 

I agree, I love when I find a full server that isnt #1

 

This server is constantly growing more in population. Eventually we'll need more servers and we could have more forum members. God help us if we have another "brewhaha" here.

 

Actually, I noticed the population is going lower.
A few months ago, there used to be ~1200 on at prime time.
I rarely see over 500 now.

 

Advertisers, hackers, and ragequit should be responsible.

That's the sad truth

 

I like sometimes going into a not very populated server for example 20 players so it dosent get as intense as it is on #1 But i still think they could cut down on servers but maybe to like 13-15

 

less people will be able to play

 

1. Hub is coming.... at least it should...
2. Not saying that all the small servers should stay, maybe 1-3.
3. I did play Minestrike. It was fun, but it shut down.... ;-;
