The sheriff system is not good.

I DO think that there should be some way to keep track of what's self defense and what's not, and I am about to go post a suggestion for that (I will cite this thread), but as the system currently is, sugar was technically still following the rules. Even if she saw that it was defense, she is still supposed to arrest you. I agree that self defense should not make you wanted, but this isn't her fault.

You told me you recorded, so that would be helpful. And I didn't see who started it, all I knew is that you killed someone while I was nearby.

Yes the system has flaws, my team mate and I were arrested by a sheriff who logged in behind us, but then when we went back there was a Mod and another player with the sheriff that had illegal items and the sheriff did nothing to them.

I do not know if sheriffs are able to team like that or not but it did bring to my attention, it can be unfair sometimes.

Self defense should be allowed and you shouldn't be prosecuted for it. If the player is defending them self, they shouldn't need to be ticketed for it. They are protecting them self from getting killed. The other one should be the one prosecuted if anything.

 

The bounty system will be changed so you will not get more bounty if you have 0 bounty and attack someone who has bounty. In future you will also respawn with your items in a town after paying off a ticket.

 

Will We get our stuff if someone kills us and we have a bounty?

Neither of those time were at the sheriff headquarters! And now killing a sheriff with Kevlar armour will be harder
