Idea Player Bounty

To encourage people to pvp, and to help rid of your enemies, it would be cool if you could set a bounty on a player. The bounty would be in gold, and when the desired player is killed, the gold would be taken from your inventory and given to the player's balance or something. The command could work like this: "/bountyset LegitmonkeyFTW 1000". Perhaps if the player with the bounty is outside of the spawn area (500x500 range?), they could get an extra bit of the bounty to help encourage tracking too. Thoughts?

 

The player getting the gold would be cool too, but maybe after a week or so, so that people won't alt (@TheSinisterOne) or just afk at spawn. Regarding your misunderstanding, I meant that there could be another incentive for people to track the player and kill them outside of spawn for a greater reward. So instead of this just encourage spawn pvp, it would also help encourage tracking, as you would have to track the player's coords and then kill them there. Sorry, not sure how else to explain this.

Perhaps if getting killed while having a bounty had some type of punishment? It would add to the challenge to survive the bounty time, and getting the gold at the end would balance this risk.

 

I mean, would people most likely put a bounty on you? This mainly is for the larger pvpers and trackers. If a bounty is however placed on you, it would just encourage you to pvp better, and become a better player, yeah?

 

Would it still be abused if there was a punishment to being killed while having a bounty on you? I think this would avoid team killing for gold, but the problem is just finding an appropriate punishment. I would love a death ban, but I don't think people would like that very much.
