There's different programms like Sony Vegas, Adobe premiere, Movie maker (which is the worst imo) and for example Camtasia :stuck_out_tongue: that's some programms I know.

    I use free programs :s
My recommendations would either be Dxtory, NVidia Shadowplay, OBS, or Jing. For editing I use Lightworks

I use Windows Live Movie Maker, which other people seems to dislike because it lacks many functions and honestly, it's probably the most basic video editor there is. But for simple just such as Minecraft video editing, it's more than enough and it doesn't place any limits on video quality/video length, and there's no watermarks.

Stuff I use for media work:

    Recommended Recording Software:

    NVIDIA Shadowplay
(Con: Fluctuating framerates will cause audio delays in Adobe Premiere, one way to fix this is using a program called Handbreak to rerender the video at a constant framerate)

    Action!
(Con: Bad for multi-channel audio recording (it could be a lot better imo) and my video appears to stutter when recording with AVI (this could be related to bad computer performance, as I don't see many people with this issue)

    DxTory
(Con: File sizes, doesn't matter what codec you use, or what you try to lower them. It's gonna be terrible. However, its multi-channel audio recording is excellent. Will require beefy specifications to record 60 fps as it will literally drain 30+ fps from you, it's insane).

    OBS
(Con: overall quality, usually depending on your computer specs, .flv file extensions, I don;'t believe there is multi-channel audio recording(?), however, it does have built-in noisegate, which is awesome.)

    =============================================================

    Recommended Video Editing Software:

    Adobe Premiere/After Affects (DIFFICULT)

Probably the best technology for advanced video editing and effects, however with that said, it's not very noob-friendly, and it will take a lot of time to learn even the basics. You'll need the motivation and inspiration/enjoyment in media to really get to know the program well.

Rendering times can be annoying based on your hardware specifications.

    Sony Vegas Pro (Semi-Difficult, easier)

The second best I'd say in the market, however, it's notorious for crashing, so make sure you're saving.
This program will be much friendlier to new-comers and has neat features. However, advanced effects will still be pretty difficult if you don't know what you're doing or just learning)

The only thing I find annoying with this program, (*this may just be dependent on my program version, which is Vegas Pro 11*) but I have to manually disable "resample" or else the project will NOT render in 60fps, if there is a way to have resample off by default, I have not found the way to do it yet)

Rendering times are also annoying, but that is again based on your hardware.

^^ That's it, I don't recommended anything else. Not camtasia, not WMM, nothing. ^^
