Not exactly sure what title to make that wouldn't piss off the community but this works I suppose.

    Now for a long post.

What are the problems I have with Staff making changes to gamemodes?
    • They don't post change-logs before-hand of actual changes made to the gamemode.
What I want and probably most of everybody is a change-log post production of the current changes that they will make to the gamemode, the community can react to the changes that involve in it and decided lots of things so that the update may contain things that the community enjoys. This can help out issues so they don't happen very often. May contain nuts.
You don't always have to include the secret things if you're going to use that excuse...
Just something I would like to see from the Staff, not hard, a post production thread that showcases the changes they would want to make/update in <gamemode>.
There is probably threads that show post-production but I haven't really seen in WildWest. Bet this thread is going to get ignored by most of the community and brought up 1 post a day.

This was made at 10:30 am today. You want a post before an update? We've learned not to get people's hopes up until the job is complete.

    How is this relevant

I mean, a post about changes before the update, like suggested changes from the staff to the gamemode. That's what I'm trying to say in the thread but wasn't clear enough.
General information about things before anything happens. Just a thought.
The last part is completely irrelevant on my part, it has nothing to do with the thread's topic, it's something that is commonly happening to me that most of the threads I create gets ignored shortly after. It's rather irritating for me since I want the communities sides of thought as well.

We constantly review what the community is wanting, suggesting, and discussing when it comes to updates. We often poll the community when making controversial changes and make discussion guided threads about things.

Directing your question back at you, What changes have staff made that you have a problem with?

    "Cha-Cha-Cha-changes" - Chickenputty 2016

As you said yourself Piky, I've seen plenty of examples of change logs being posted even right before a patch or update is launched. Putty himself often writes these (other times it's roke). you can go to the development logs any time to see plenty of examples of this

While I agree, we as a community are more or less in the dark about what's going on behind the scenes to fix things in Wild West, I have faith that when they say "we're working hard to fix the issue" they mean that they're working hard to fix the issue. Sometimes new servers are buggy. If we made the staff feel like we needed a play by play of what they were doing we'd be adding more stress to their already stressful workload.

Don't worry, I'm positive this group of people is doing their best to give you the best experience possible

Well, that answers the question I have. The "issues" are actually my ignorance since I never look at pre-post updates at all. Welp, that answers this thread! I seem to never see pre-post things. Probably my fault, I dunno.

Don't suffice my **** reply because I have a red name. I know you made this thread with intention behind it, regardless of what it is, I want to know. There has to be something on your mind that we ****ed up on that you are wanting to discuss.

I think our unintentional intention behind not saying anything is that when we do we can't guarantee that everything we say will happen and we want to surprise everyone. I have a ton of things that I want the gamemodes to be, but I can't guarantee that the developers will be able to get to it. I can discuss these things, but I'm frankly afraid of pissing of the community with #soon.

When we do major, possibly controversial, updates I would like to believe we post discussion/poll threads before doing so. Otherwise, minor tweaks and shifts are just us making the gamemode work how we see fit. Feedback afterwards isn't always bad, maybe?

I didn't have exactly enough time to write a full on reply and bull**** my way through that, sorry about that.
    Okay, I'll explain this.
Backstory: Threads in WildWest, community angers about the issues, decide to create this thread about adding in "pre-post change-log" before changes are made. Haven't really seen (probably because I never view threads or Tweats) them and would like to see if this was possible to at least have the communities thoughts on the things.

    More explained:

Staff posts thread about up-coming changes about gamemode, community can react to the (visible) notes the staff offers. After X time when the update is up, update goes through.

For a gamemode like Wild West, I think that pre-posting the changes may not be a bad idea as it has active developers who are initializing those changes.

We also have to lead ourselves in deciding what to force upon the community and what not to (being frank). Sometimes changes are not desired but need to happen to suit the gamemode how it needs fit (like the harder economy). Whether or not we eventually kill it by doing that is our issue I suppose.

(PS I added to my previous reply as you were replying)

The harder economy was justified since it made it more better (yes, we all know it's harder but we wouldn't want diamonds around now do we).
It's actually quite wonderful for the developers to post pre-changes, providing a steady and safe path.
Guess I was irritated & angry, oh wells.
Don't really have much else to say on my mind now.
