    I keep seeing people say, "EULA ruined MCPVP". I thought MCPVP shutdown because hclewk hired a guy who was known to be a hacker. Most of the staff quit as a result to protest. hclewk then just straight up sold the server.

    Anyway, I've never seen so much pessimism in my life, and this is coming from someone who is somewhat of a pessimist.
    Brawl can and will survive using a token system. Other servers like the Hive use a token system and they're going strong.
    Besides, do we really need money keep up the server? Can't this whole server thing be a hobby? If you're so worried about the server shutting down, why don't just you donate money? That's not prohibited by EULA.

    What do you expect from a toxic, pessimistic kid community that spends way to much time on a block game. Honestly, the reason many people are mad is because they like the fact that Brawl was p2w, it meant there was an easy way for them to succeed. I think that's part of the reason why so many people are angry, because they will now loose their unfair advantage.

    Budokkan was only promoted as a "last effort" to try and keep McPvP alive. McPvP hadn't actually turned a profit for over 6 months before this incident.
    Hive has a bigger community and used to make a lot more money than Brawl does. Mineplex has been struggling to make money (hence why they released Titan), and the only reason they're still around is because they made millions when they used to be the biggest server.
    Brawl costs $9,000 a month to keep the servers running, to pay staff wages .ect. I've spoken to an SMod about it and apparently Brawl wasn't making a breathtaking amount of profit before the EULA hit Brawl. I always try to be optimistic about things, but I'd rather be pessimistic than lie. The EULA is going to screw over a lot of Minecraft servers, and if Brawl gets through this, I'll be very impressed.

    You know, we don't have to comply. We can just keep the server at version 1.9.2. I think some servers are doing that.
    But I understand we would want to keep up and make use of the latest Minecraft features.

    It's really not that hard to downsize the server. It's fairly easy for putty to run some data, figure out what the least popular servers are, and cull them.
    The main servers then, should only have about half the sub-servers they have. This would dramatically reduce the operating cost of the server

    I think they will survive, but I do think their gonna have to cut corners on many things to lower costs

    As long as they don't update their game they'll be fine.
    But they can't stay at 1.8 forever. Brawl is comming to its end so will alot of other servers.

    Pay2 Win generates more money than a token (subscription service).

    How many parents would let their kid pay a monthly fee to play on Brawl? I don't think very many would do that.

    Open access, with pay2win allows more people to play for free and for those that want to buy extras they can buy what they want.

    I think Eula is well intentioned. But I see it as trying to make society socialists rather than open market supply and demand.

    The real losers will be the players if the servers can not afford to operate.

    However, like society not everyone has money (or resources).

    People in my opinion should be allowed to spend their money on what they want.

    Servers need money to pay for the actual servers, admins, and staff who maintain/upgrade and keep the game up to date.

    Personally, I would not change anything and have players just use the current versions of Minecraft.

    Brawl's changing their donation ranks so all future ranks purchased don't give any gameplay changing benefits. Brawl's not gonna be stuck on 1.8 forever.

    I haven't seen the stats for Brawl, but it seems that the server might be going to end, From what I've heard.

    I think downsizing the server would be great. Less CTF rooms, WarZ, ect.

    I also think we have to let go of some old servers. As much as I love Minestrike, and Creative, I think it is time to let go.

    I really do hope that Brawl pulls through, because this time the community won't have anywhere else to go. At least, if it does die I might have more time for my homework.

    Anyways, brawl didn't die, but it did make me salty as all get-out about my lack of a fukkin' custom title.

    Like, I already had that, now they took it away and are holding what I already had ransom.

    Dick move, brawl.

    They haven't given donation ranks any new features, they've just took non-donator features away. The premium forums and the exclusives are cool and all, but one of them was Slither which was released 2 days later, and the other just showed 2 semi-interesting items in an upcoming gamemode than everyone knows is coming. As far as I'm concerned, I've received barely any perks from the new ranks, although the non-donators have lost them.

    They need to add cool cosmetic items to ranks, rather than taking cosmetic things away from non-ranks.
