EULA Compliance

Everyone was aware that it would probably be enforced eventually. Supposedly there has been warnings sent out in the past few months that the EULA would be enforced.

Edit: Let me spell this out in a way someone can understand. Brawl owns a server in a game created by Mojang. They own the game that Brawl uses to make money via a server. They can do whatever they want with their game.

 

I'd say dying is better than being already dead.

 

Quite honestly I was on this server back in 2012. The main gimmick back then was Mc-War. The MAIN way Brawl was making money was from overpowered weapons and equipment no one else could get unless they donated for it. You remove the "pay2win" part, and I use this term loosely, you lose a lot of money. When the EULA first dropped servers were given one month to change but it was never enforced. So here we are 2 years later and it's happening. So is the change justified and right? Yes.

 

The change is justified, but that doesn't change the fact that it was bad. Mojang should have made this change 2 years ago, but they were lazy and didn't enforce it until now, 2 years after the change. Good job Mojang.

 

I've heard rumors about Mc-WarZ Monthly donator's losing their /tpa command, is this true?

 

Yeah, but I think lifetime will still have it.

 

If Mojang doesn't allow us to have /tpa for donors only then we cannot have it, otherwise our server (Brawl) will be blacklisted for versions past 1.9.3.

 

Tbh, brawl could just stay on 1.8.9. From what I've seen, not many people are big fans of 1.9

 

An agreement is an agreement. You cannot bypass this in any legal way.

So, with the full release of 1.9.4 (yes, 4), the blacklist has been ported all the way to 1.7.
Any ideas about using an older version are now moot (unless you want 1.6 for some reason)

Oh, and the blocklist was expanded, and now includes the other domains such as mcctf.com.
Just in case anyone suggests that (even though it was already stated they're not going that route)

@PoixMine Has been in-game telling us that the servers are Blocked and if we log off, we cannot log back in, since Mojang has pulled the trigger on the EULA compliance order.

Well, crap. I was thinking of playing Wild West today, but no. Mojang had to blacklist Brawl further.

Will they put Brawl off the blacklist after they comply with the EULA?

 

Will the servers be back up today?

We don't know yet. I assume that the hierarchy of Brawl are working on it right now.

Most likely, but it may take a while. Hopefully @chickenputty or someone else will give us an update soon about all this.
