Fundraising for War 2.0

I've been pondering ideas for War server development, maintenance, and funding for 2.0.

@chickenputty perhaps this could help?

In the past, I was a part of a "Kick-starter" program. The idea was the fundraising for the development of new projects, work, or other things.

The owners of Maurders Gun Runners wanted to crowd source the development of new figures to rival GiJoe figures and weapons. This was a pretty cool project to be a part of. Essentially, we were able to donate as a project pay for functionality progam and help achieve specific goals, with fundraising and production goals.

I donated and was able to receive cool things on behalf of my donation.

Think of it as crowd sourced funding for specific projects.

Kickstarter programs are really crowd source funding.

If we knew the cost of the development of War 2.0 then we could donate to help the server. There would have to be some sort of donation for special features.

I dont know what that would look like but I likethe idea of identifying the cost projects. Then, using the kickstarting project with a specific set of goals for the donations needed to fundraise.

Perhaps, an Excel list with projects with specific costs.

Personally, I would be interested in donating to help with specific projects and perhaps others might as well.


Kick-starter crowd sourcing, something to consider.

 

Brawl is losing a major source of income to become EULA compliant. Not sure how much they have in reserves but my guess is not more then a few months worth of operating expenses.

Hosting a server, games, and staff costs money.

 

Those are great ideas!

Maybe it could be a step/incremental approach

Donate based on incriments, and get things based on increments. This is how the Maurder Gun Runners did it. If I remember right, Maurders even had $1,000 donators...

You can donate any amount, for cool stuff you can donate:

$50 Cool stuff from above and T-shirts

$75

$100 You get Mod to do your homework.

$150 You get mod plus all the cool stuff.

$250 @Lord_Roke will never censor your posts

$500 Roke will do your homework

$1,000 Putty will do your homework

$5,000 Putty will give you Admin

For large donations, you get meetings with Developers and a glimpse of the project plan/timeline.
