    So, i saw thread that said that mining spawners with silktouch should be added then i thought it would be a better idea to add that it is a 5% chanse of dropping a spawner when mining it with silktouch.

    5%? So that means that you'll be able to get one after mining 20 spawners. In the long term it will be op.

    Maybe events could be hosted with spawners or other items as prizes instead of having them attainable normally?

    no, if you have bad luck it could be more then 20 spawners (5%)

    maybe 1% then? then it is very rare to get a spawner by mining them

    but isnt it hard to mine 20 spawners (or more)? unless you have xray.

    No, thats a bad Idea. Because then people would start to hunt and mine all spawners and then you have a hard time trying to find another.
    As said, if you wan't to add so you can place spawners, do hosted events, or something like that.

    yeah but it is almost IMPOSIBLE to find spawners without xray that you have.

    No it isn't if you mine for like 5-10 minutes it is quite easy to find a Mineshaft and there are often like 2-3 spawners inside one.

    you mean that all the spawners would be mined, right? but then people could sell the spawners to each other and get spawners by events.

    No, people cant sell it to eachother since it is only 5% Chance they actually get the spawner. It is almost impossible to get it. So you won't be able to sell it and it would be OP having a spawner to place.

    He does'nt mean it that way, dumbass :smile:, he means they can sell the already sold spawner.

    Being able to place spawners, no matter how you get them, would ruin the gamemode. This is just too OP for what is supposed to be vanilla server.
