1.8 or 1.9?

Not to be rude, your a nice person and all but Honestly featherfall you hardly play survival and when you do your only shooting bows and towering at spawn (from what I've seen atleast). You don't understand if soup wants to slowly but surley survive, you can make it 1.9 combat. I do like the idea from other brawlers that we make it 1.9 but 1.8/1,7 combat

We should go to 1.9. 1.10 is going to be here soon. We shouldnt stay on a version that will become outdated and not used by many.

 

The only way to keep the majority of the players happy and run 1.9 (as it should if it wants to stay relevant) is to implement the 1.7 or 1.8 pvp system in it. As stated by many other players. It would get the building part of survival pvp a boost with the new blocks, pvping wouldn't change much, tracking wouldn't be effected, and it brings more things for the players to figure out and explore as they play.

 

don't look at 1.7 as out of date, look at it as a pvp game mode like warz is a game mode.

 

If this server updates to 1.9 pvp aspects, a lot of people would quit the server

 

The only people that vote for 1.9 is people that don't pvp, don't know anything about pvp, or simply don't care about pvp -___- not gonna list any names since it's obvious who they are

How about neither? 1.9 has nothing to do with Survival "PVP", The pvp will be ruined (even if you try to code it)

1.8 is already garbage, The whole hit detection and souping isn't accurate at all, all the server does it lag, You can't even pvp, we had a team fight and it was impossible to even pvp and stew, Then when you ask a staff member to reboot or fix anything its "It does not fix the lag by rebooting"

1.7 was the best version by far we had in all Brawl versions, We had 200+ players on a day and at night maintained around 70+, We had no lag at all in 1.7 that I remember, Everything like the bugs and glitches were maintained by Professional Moderators, Not MCPVP Players that know nothing about a Hacker and what one looks like, My bestfriend got banned by a moderator (Im not saying any names) when all he was doing was looking at 2 players and hitting them,
I do not understand you admins, Don't you see all these other servers (Sorry if this is advertising) like Badlion, MineHQ, Kohi (Before it merged) doing way better than Brawl and you resume to do the same old crap no one likes. I'm so sick of these players in Brawl that have NO idea what pvp is and wants 1.9, They have no clue how it ruins pvp, no one wants to wait 1 second to get 1 hit, That is total garbage, We love jitterclicking, Strafing, W-Tapping, A-D Spam That takes skill to us. With 1.9 you cannot do any of those except A-D Spam. Since you guys don't care about whos on your server as long as its players because you're worried about making Money, Then go ahead and use 1.9 or keep 1.8, You will see what happens in the future, So many servers have gone out of business because they do the wrong things.

My final opinion : Update to 1.7 with higher versions compatibility, OR keep 1.8

1.9, because Elytra. And shulkers (using those for base defense, hahaha).

Chorus fruit might be OP if this was factions, but it's not. They don't teleport you that far, so to counter it just bury your damned base or put it at 255.

Also if PVP sucks in 1.9, then Brawl should just remove the cool down. They removed end chests and spawner changing from 1.8 so I can't imagine that it would be too hard to pull out cool down. On a positive note Gapps are no longer craftable so no one has to watch an iron guy beat up a P4 because he gapped.

 

What are you talking about? They can't even fix a sponge glitch that's been a bug for about 6-8 months now. also as we speak it 45% when you do /lag, Great server. lol

Tbh tho, the poll question is too broad and could inaccurately affect the poll votes...
The choices need to be more clear, because idk if it's including both the features and PvP the specific version has to offer, or if it's just one or the other... etc. etc.

Better, more clear choices:

"Remain with 1.8 features & 1.8 PvP"
or
"Add 1.9 features & 1.9 PvP"
or "I don't care" lel

Yes I'm just a ctf randie strolling by, but this is what most minecraft pvpers want and imo would be the best for the server. I don't think it would be safe to completely change (*cough* dismantle & destroy) the pvp aspect to a largely pvp-centered gamemode. PvP has been the same since day 000001 of Minecraft, so if what everyone has been accustomed to and has grown to love gets changed (into a legitimately lame and dull baby kids game without any sharp tables edges and butterknives allowed)....the OG hardcore pvp player count will drop (and would it ever be replaced by a horde of 2 year old Dora the Explorer wannabes and Thomas the Tank Engine fans? idk). So maybe let there be a 1.9 PvP arena in the Brawl Kit PvP server to let people actively/competitively try it out, and from there, with the majority pvp community consensus, we can see where that leads us.

 

If a player is on 1.9, which I assume most newcomers are, they are going to be confused when new items such as shields cannot be crafted, or why they can't use two slots. 1.8 is already a step back from where the server should be, 1.7 would be even further back. I'm not sure if some of you guys were around, but in 1.8 beta, sprinting got added, food got changed, etc. This also completely revolutionized PvP, and servers like McPvP adapted by adding instasoup to make up for food not healing. The same modifications can be made to 1.9 versions. The sword cooldown is changable, and some of the other issues can be either dealt with or changed. @chickenputty is right, we do need to "bite the bullet". It's been done for many updates in the past where combat has been changed, and can be done again. With us being on the latest version, new players will join something familiar, instead of wondering why they can't do X, Y, and Z from 1.9. The server shouldn't be for those few elite that mastered combat in a version, which is what is being represented in this thread.

 

1.7/1.8 compatibily won't hurt the server at all. Badlion, one of the biggest pvp servers out there is 1.71.8 and 1.9 compatible. And I already switch everytime I want to play brawl. I always pvp in 1.7 but when I want to play brawl I have to switch to 1.8. Yes it's annoying but brawl is fun to play. I just wish it was 1.7/1.8 compatible. and just becuase spvp could stay 1.7/1.8 doesn't mean it's a downgrade whatsoever. the server can still thrive. By saying that keeping it 1.7/1.8 will hurt it is idiotic, no offence to you or anyone.there's more facts pointing that 1.7/1.8 is better for pvp and will help survival pvp out more. Also, notice how every player that wants 1.9 doesn't pvp on spvp. Oracle wants 1.9 but he hardly plays survival and never pvp's. Other people who have voted 1.9 have never even logged onto spvp before. Just my thoughts. No mean to start a flame war.

You do realze that "those few elite" are the ones that fave a forums account and are active in game and are willing to pay money for ranks? It's not even those few elites either, Ive spoken to most people on spvp and they'd like it to stay 1.8 aswell, even cuddled asked ingame if they wanted 1.8 or 1.9 and the majority wanted 1.8 and the few that wanted 1.9 were the ones that never really constantly played spvp.

 

Why do you make a poll then if you "Think it should be different" lol. Go ahead putty, You guys already saw how many players we lost updating to 1.8 and buying out MCPVP lol...
