1.8 or 1.9?

Actually it's the same thing, 25 x 2 = 50. What school did you goto?

 

I know its the same thing, I'm making a point of how it's better to not have two servers with 25 players. It splits the playerbase, and makes it way less exciting.

 

But the 1.7 server will actually have pvp. Since most of the people that suggested 1.7 actually pvp on the server.

 

If you are seeking players, then why not go with 1.7 pvp with 1.8 and 1.9 compatible? Most players here obviously wan't 1.8 and I believe the biggest lose with that is that most people will run 1.9 minecraft. But if it is 1.9 comtipable it will work just as fine, but 1.9 destroyed minecraft and I hope you don't destroy ur own server.

 

You're missing the point here. This has nothing to do with player count. Doges point is that the community will be split between versions. I'm sure if Brawl only cared about the player count, they would've done this right away. But, no. Brawl obviously cares about the spvp community but is stuck between satisfying the needs of all different kinds of players. It's hard.

Ah, yes, let me just make my own 1.7/1.8/1.9 server. It'll be compatible with everyone. Oh, look, it's up now. You can join it! It's not that easy. As much as I hate to say it, Brawl has bigger priorities right now. Also, 1.9 did not destroy minecraft and it won't destroy Brawl. To say that is simply absurd.

 

I know that it is hard, keep 1.8 then and then you don't need to worry about that more.
And for some players, it did destroy minecraft.. All of the fun of minecraft removes (PVP) the only server that actually might win on updating to 1.9 is gun based servers or build servers. SPVP Is based on PVP which will be destroyed in 1.9 so It will destroy survival pvp.

 

None of the Brawl servers would benefit off of 1.9. Maybe MCParty but that's the only server in mind. 1.9 didn't destroy Minecraft but it sure destroyed pvp.

 

Being unique is one thing but there is a reason other servers are still in 1.7, its is what players enjoy. There is no point in updating to 1.9 (with the 1.9 combat system) to be "unique" and attract new players if 1.9 is not what players want.

Those who are saying survival pvp is not completely pvp based it definitely correct, but it is a very large part of the gamemode that most people love and enjoy along with tracking. That's pretty much all there is. Pvp and tracking. It's not what the gamemode is supposed to be entirely be about, but it's all players do. Updating to 1.9 takes away one of the only 2 things we love. That's why most of us will quit if it updates. We don't care all that much about the new features 1.9 adds (But they are pretty neat)

The survival aspect? ... There is only 2 types of people in survival pvp. Those who aren't stupid and pvp, track, etc. And those who sit at the pig spawner all day, get 2 pieces of pork, run out of spawn 25 blocks to build a dirt house, and die only to repeat the process. If the server updates to 1.9 without any pvp changes all those who aren't stupid will quit.

It will split the player base but it will keep no one from leaving and/or quitting. Everyone would stay and play happily

 

Question, would updating to 1.9 have 1.9 pvp or 1.8/1.7 pvp? I believe more people, including myself, would vote for 1.9 if you specified what kind of pvp it would have.

 

Although I don't play Survival PVP that much, I want the whole Brawl servers to remain 1.8. 1.9...you could say that whoever made it sucked. 1.9 in my opinion is dumb.
