    Hello, I am patriq and I am a mcctf player that has been playing this gamemode for quite the while. I've gradually gotten less interested in ctf alone even with map updates and team events(I don't plan to leave for a good while though). Alongside CTF I enjoy playing several pvp related games like skywars and potionpvp. This morning I opened up youtube and came across a few videos and it just popped into my mind "CTF Factions". I can't say that it would work out so well or so badly because it was just a quick idea that I thought of in a couple minutes. The gist of it all is basic faction attributes with a little twist that gives it a little more competetive features.

    Factions
    I'm sure some of the community has played games like HCteams HCfactions or regular teams and factions. Almost everything from those gamemodes carry over into this version of the gamemode. There will be faction creation, faction power, area claim, alliances, bases, koths, kits, map resets, all of that jazz. The goal is to create a base with a few comrades and keep your base secure with your storage and loot from raids or faction fights. The downside to raiding, is that you are required to break into a base to collect loot, and you are unable to do that unless the target faction has a low enough power level. You can reduce a faction's power level by killing members of that faction. The alternative ways to get loot is by collecting resources and winning events to claim koth prizes and such.

    CTF

    This is what would make this particular gamemode special. The twist to this game is that each faction is relative to a CTF team or requested team and can not be created without given permissions. Leaders of current alive teams are able to request a faction to be created and with that faction creation, will have to create a banner for their team. Once a faction is created and a base is shown to be complete, the staff member who created the team will give the leader a banner to place inside their base and must confirm the placement to be open enough. With these banners, factions are able to grab it with the same time values as regular ctf if able to, you are able to have closed entrances so it won't be very easy for enemies to enter and just take your flag. Upon stealing a flag, a faction wants to return that flag to their own base to claim a cap. When capturing a flag, the team who has been captured on will lose 1/10 of their power. The team with the most power at the end of the map will be rewarded for the following map or with other in game rewards.

    Classes

    This is another feature that makes this gamemode fairly unique. Though HCfactions and HCteams have set kits that are required to be set in order to have effect, Flag Factions would have the CTF classes as the kits. Yes that means that you can be a medic, heavy, archer, soldier, chemist, ninja, mage, and elf. Assassin, pyro, necro, engineer, and dwarf would be excluded as they are instakill and automatic classes (dwarf surely can instakill after a long period of time since factions won't have very much of a timer to stop snowballers). To be one of these classes you are required to collect the resources required for those classes. For example, if you wanted to be a medic you need a full set of golden armor, a golden sword, steak, and snowballs. Without all of the materials you will not be able to heal or get constant regeneration as a medic, that goes for every class with any special abilities. Only steak will be allowed for healing sources other than medics and chemist potions (chemists can only get their max amount of potions and can not distribute anything other than buffs and debuffs to other players). Drinkables are also allowed (speed II, strength II).
    Please do feel free to leave criteria and suggestions. This was a very quickly made suggestion and surely could use more time and effort but I just wanted to get it through to the community.​

    Wait so do these games take up the same amount of time as a CTF match, or are they longer and take more time to build up supplies like a normal faction server?

    Long running, map resetting, about a month or less long per map to decide winning/superior factions.
