    Hey guys-

    I recently had a chance to read a post by @chickenputty about the reasoning of not using the 1.7 client. I'll repost and comment:

    I think this is a reminder that this community ultimately is a business. It needs to take in money from players, and pay for things like salaries, servers, bandwidth and development time. I should know about this, I myself am an adult that works in IT and knows how projects get prioritized, and some get put on the very bottom. This is not a slight against Brawl by any means; all companies work that way, and it commonly means there are things you just don't have time to do.

    That being said, I'd like to float the idea of a crowdfunding and/or Kickstarter type campaign to raise money for server updates, dev work, lag fixes, etc. Above I have a vote box for the amount of money that you think you would be willing to give to support this kind of work. Please give a vote and comment below.

    Dunno, could be. My thoughts are that if the community wants 1.7, and is able to pay for it, I don't see why Brawl couldn't deliver. I personally want 1.9 but also understand that everyone liked 1.7...

    Yeah, I donate because it is a business and it takes money to host a server, maintain, and provide up keeping.
