[ALERT] MAJOR HEAT WAVE TO STRIKE AMERICA, PLEASE READ

Hello Brawlers,

Some of you may know me as cityscaper or a build team member, but my real life passion is weather. I love it so incredibly much... it is just amazing out there folks, but also dangerous. It has come to my attention that as of right now, a high pressure system is forming over the gulf of California with power never before seen on this planet. This high pressure system will threaten numerous all time record highs for several cities including my own, Pasadena, California, where highs will soar into the 110's. Temperatures will soar into the 120's in eastern California and Arizona. Los Angeles will have highs at 115 degrees, several degrees warmer then the previous all time record high. If you live in any of these areas, it is time to protect yourself from this heat. The last time this happened, the temperatures were way cooler than now, and still 300 people were killed.

Here is a list of steps to protect your life and your loved ones.

- Wear light colored clothing outdoors
- Limit sun exposure
- Drink plenty of water
- Do NOT run the A/C during the hottest 3 hours of the day, or it will brake.
- Close curtains and windows
- If you do not have air conditioning, go to the movies, library, mall or other government buildings.
- Check on nieghbors and loved ones you know have trouble around the house and may need extra care during heat waves.
This last one is so important.


- NEVER EVER NEVER EVER LEAVE A CHILD OR PET UNATTENTED INSIDE A CAR FOR EVEN ONE SECOND!!! EVERY YEAR, DOZENS OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS HAVE TO LIVE THEIR LIFE KNOWING THEIR LACK OF COMMON SEANCE KILLED A, OR THEIR OWN CHILD. NO MATTER WHAT THE LAW SAYS, IF YOU SEE A CHILD ALONE IN A PARKED CAR, BRAKE THE GLASS AND RESCUE THEM. THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WILL PROTECT YOU IF BRAKING THE GLASS WAS NECESSARY TO SAVE A CHILD'S LIFE. IF TEMPERATURES ARE 110 OUTSIDE, IT IS 180 DEGREES INSIDE, NOT SURVIVABLE BY ANY HUMAN OR PET.

Here are the current highs for each day. This heat wave will last for several weeks. See those little islands off of the California coast? Now see that "90" that is sitting on that jetty. That is normally... that is normally 78. Watch the number closely as it is the number for the high of millions of Americans this week.

Day Three: Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 The hottest day for Los Angeles. Yes... 115.. could hit 120 in San Gabriel Valley.

Day Six: Friday, June 24th, 2016


The heat WILL continue. The high is expected to park itself over the entire U.S. through July, and the entire continent will be baked! Please, watch the forecast. This is further in the future and therefor this post will be updated with better forecasting as it becomes available. So here is what is causing this powerful heat.

Read means 588 DAM, which is fairly warm.The middle of the US has been experiencing heat this weak while inside the red region.

Dark red means blistering hot, or 594 DAM. This type is very dangerous, and daily record highs are surly broken.

Purple is... a... a moment of silence. This region of the world has not seen purple, or 600 DAM for 3 decades. It means all time record highs will be breached, which for L.A, is possible.

Areas of 606+ DAM, do not exist on this map because that has not been experianced yet. We do not expect anywhere to hit 606 DAM, but some places may hit 603 DAM

Please be safe Brawlers. In this increasingly warmer world, heat waves will be getting stronger. This is the new normal, and we cant live like this. This is necessary to curse at my community, as I think many people will loose their lives this next week. **** Climate change deniers. I will be spending my entire life fighting for our planet, not because it is easy, but because it is hard and I love doing it. I know a lot of you don't care, but what we do today and in the next 10 years will take 10,000 years for the earth to correct naturally, and will forever spoil this beautiful planet we will have to leave our children one day... oh wait we are those children. In 1970's and 80's, Carl Segon told us to protect it for our children. Hello, I am one of those children, and I am disappointed. Find all of it out yourself, because I just scratched the surface. . THIS ^^^^ Should never happen!

I wont. Heat related deaths typically occur with small children, pets and the elderly.

 

Unfortunately, people will most likely die. In the hundreds. I am posting this on Hypixels and MinePlex's off topic because maybe... just maybe.. someone who reads it check on a neighbor and saves their life.

 

Look, I am 1/3 angry, 1/3 scared, and 1/3 super excited. I am a kid in a candy store rn. I LOVE HEAT! I feel like Olaf from Forzen. Suns out buns out. Now I feel like @fresh check his youtube vids on twitter fails, they are funny. But I am so happy to have this heat. I just need to warn as many ppl as possible though first.

 

As a 16 year old teenager who couldn't care less about politics, and is a die heart meteorologist, I am afraid it is all too real. I have put together some graphs of the average temperature in my town every year since 1906. Each decade shows an increase in temperatures. What used to be a hot year in 1910 would now be seen as a cold year here in 2016, this is not only for my town but the entire planet, except of course the north Atlantic. Noboy knows why that isn't warming.
Yes, some people may be promoting climate change because it helps them, however the predictions that the seas will rise 200 feet, that snow and ice will cease to exist in polar regions, that hurricanes will become stronger and more frequent, that cities like New York, Tokyo, Bejing, Shang Hai, Singapore, Sydney, Perch, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, San Deigo, London, Dubai and the millions of towns and villages dotting along the coast will fall beneath the waves are real.
We have an opportunity to come together for the first time as one to stop a common enemy and save us from ourself. However our greed and selfishness are taking us over and we are letting our tiny little planet go the way Venus and did. If we can sum up that courage to stop climate change, we will have set mankind down a greater, greener path.
Don't tell me it is made up by the Chineese.

UPDATE ON FORCAST FOR LOS ANGELES:

As we approach this heat wave, a few new wildcards will come into play. In Los Angeles, The high pressure system may wrap tropical moister around itself and they may be a few clouds, cooling the temperature. However, should those clouds come from a more northerly than easterly direction, temperatures of 100 degrees will be forced down the mountains. When air sinks, it rises 5 degrees per 1000 feet. Since Mnt. Wilson will be at 95-100 degrees, 4 x 5 = 20... 95 or 100 + 20 = 115 or 120 degrees in the valley. Therefore, the NWS in Oxnard has said temperatures could range between 110 and 118 in the valley during Monday/Tuesday timeframe depending on which card the atmosphere picks. Be prepared for extreme heat either way, and read the tips I wrote on the original post.


UPDATE FOR THE REST OF THE SOUTH WEST:

New forcats models show that although there is less areas of 600 DAM, there are way more areas of 599 and 598 DAM. Not only that, but models are showing the high pressure system taking longer to move out of the way. More areas need to prepare for prolonged, extreme heat this week, especially Los Angeles, Bakers Field, Sacramento, Death Valley, Palm Springs, Yuma, Phoenix, Needles and Las Vegas.
