Sheriff Mode: Off-Duty

    Let's say, the appropriate ratio of players to sheriffs should be 10-1. If there are 50 players and 5 sheriffs, anymore sheriffs that join will be marked "off-duty".

    Off-duty sheriffs' equipment (handcuffs, inspector, ticket) will not work.
    Off-duty sheriffs should not go rogue hunting, unless a player goes rogue in their presence.
    Pretty much the only thing off-duty sheriffs can do productive wise, is mining.

    Well, I would like to meet a sheriff that doesn't his super-magical OP handcuffs.

    Or we could create a role called Super Villain, Bounty Hunter, or Hitman and they can kill Sherrifs at will, any time, and they "hunt" the law.

    Players would have to engage a bounty on the Sheriff and then new roles could hunt them down. Dead or alive.

    Kind of evens things out by introducing chaos...Muahaha!

    (D) Tag. Means Drug Lord. Applicable rank which adds a tracker +Specific guns (I can come up with ideas, just ask nicely) which tracks nearest sheriff who has killed a rogue within 5m. A mini rank could apply to a sheriff, such as a Savior (doesn't change the s) and appears on the Savior tracker for 5 minutes, unless killed. DLs (Drug Lords) are KOS for sheriffs period. Even if they are handcuffed, their gear isn't defined as illegal in the code, and they don't go rogue. They are essentially the bad guys of the west.

    An ingame rank that directly counters the sheriff definetly seems interesting and plausible.

    maybe the sheriffs select these players in game every 3 hours or they log off the become normal players again

    If this was added maybe it could be an all player feature and you could track the nearest person who is processing which would be the Drug Lord (You know?) or you could choose to be able to track sheriffs or always be able to track bounty normal players that aren't in a rebel base, sheriff, or drug lord but you could track anyone you want and doing this so would make you a "Hunter." This might be a good EULA idea because if you want to change who you want to track a different kind of person you could "pay" in the shop to have a change for this, or you could pay to have an alternative thing that wouldn't be available to normal players where you could track players who have illegal stuff on them or something...

    No no no hell no absolutely positively NO.

    You must have misread, because you are supposed to apply for the rank instead of it being available to everyone, because then it would be a full on war between Sheriffs and Drug Lords.

    Also, when did we go from a new rank to tracking sheriffs? A sheriff tracker would break the game into a million pieces, and make the economy seem like a minor coding error. Sheriffs would never be able to make money if they were track able. Sit at a processor with full gear, one player tracking sheriff, one tracking bandit, one tracking rogue. Sheriff comes up on tracker, element of surprise is lost, /logout occurs. Just no.

    Yeah, It's hard enough to take on teammates who go rogue. They can track us. Imagine the whole server being able to track sheriffs. Madness! :open_mouth: Although, I think a sheriff tracker should be available to sheriffs only. So we can track each other.

    lets say the appropriate ratio of players to sheriffs is NOT 10 - 1.

    If that is the correct ratio there wouldn't be so much controversy.

    You should know that within 100 blocks of the rebel base is right outside of the walls.

    Well then you can't track sheriffs at all inside rebel bases.
