New Booster: Drug Legalization

    This is basically an alternate to my other idea. During this booster, all drugs are legal. Sheriffs will not be able to arrest players based on drug possession alone. Sheriffs can process drugs as well.

    To be honest, I don't how easy it will be to implement this. It may require a reboot in order for this to activate and deactivate.

    It doesn't require a reboot to change harvesting amounts, processing times, or TPA availability, so it should be able to make drugs “legal" without a reboot. I'm guessing illegal guns would still be illegal as that would tip the scales way too far in favor of regular players, as if it weren't tipped in that direction already.

    Going rogue, robbing conductors, and possessing illegal weapons will all still be illegal. Sheriffs can still search you in rebel bases for illegal weapons.

    Yeah, that's what all the boosters are for. They benefit everyone, not just the person who bought them.

    I think its a great idea, especially for the sheriffs. Sheriffs make so little money, whereas I can make about 28k in a single wildgrass run (18 stacks). Making illegal guns still be illegal is a very good trade-off for making drugs legal for the duration of the booster.

    This isn't a really "good" idea because sheriffs can easily let the person hit first and then arrest them while processing.

    The sheriffs get to process without anything getting in their way then. The sheriffs can just cuff anyone who comes there for illegal weapons and stuff.

    I see that being a problem. But, you can go to a different rebel base to get illegal weapons. One that is not occupied by sheriffs.

    Other than that sheriffs can pretty much rule the bases like poppy because the "good" teams will take over wild grass and coco.

    The more I think about this idea, the more I see chaos coming from it. You'll have players killing each other trying to get more drugs, because the fields will be picked clean.
    On the other hand, sheriffs will be friendly, and likely share drugs with docile players.
    I see your point @Endermaster3000, in the end, the strong teams and the sheriffs will be the big winners of the drug legalization booster. But, isn't that the way it is already? Well, currently the strong teams rule the server. Sheriffs are in the gutter.

    I like the idea, but possibly update it to say that sheriffs shouldn't be able to check players in a rebel base during this booster. That way it doesn't require coding to change the way the inspector works. (Right now it counts drugs as illegal and takes them, so sheriffs checking for illegal guns would take the drugs as well)

    Yes, but they aren't changing how something is seen. Changing the processing/harvesting times just alters a timer for a given amount of time, whereas with something like drug legalization you'd have to go back (I'm assuming) and change the ID's the inspector considers illegal. I feel like it would be a lot more work to pull off. Although I don't know the API they use to do boosters, so I could be wrong.

    1: Sheriffs literally can't process. Code doesn't allow it.

    2: Being at a base for more than 5 minutes is considered camping, which is abuse.
    Thats what the illegal booster idea is for. Sheriffs can't enter an illegal location for X amount of time.
