Re-balancing proposal

    Old stats:
    Proposal: Revert guns to what they were. ^^^
    Debuff guns, buff armor.

    I propose that default sheriff should be changed to projectile protection 1 + protection 1 full iron.
    I did some damage tests with it.
    Health remaining determined by Essentials /whois command.
    Should be easy to find the number of hearts remaining.
    Headshot from T-Gewehr:
    First try: 9.664/20 hp remaining.
    Second try: 13.92/20 hp remaining.
    Third try: 10.272/20 hp remaining.
    Fourth try: 12.096/20 hp remaining.
    Fifth try: 10.88/20 hp remaining.
    Doesn't match repeater hitting diamond perfectly, but most of the time it takes 3 T-G headshot hits to kill a sheriff. Still better than the current 2 T-G headshot hits.

    Most players disagree, I feel like armor should be buffed instead of guns.

    Ok, I understand that you would like sheriff armor to be buffed. But could you please say why? I believe that the points I made in the post you listed are very much valid. What is your arguement for an armor buff instead of a gun buff?

    Well, gun buffs only kills more people quicker. This isn't warz with the instant healing. The fights here have a more strategic side to them. You're meant to tank hits so you can recover with meds. Instead of making sheriffs deal the same amount of damage as bandits, let them take the same amount instead. This gives both sides equal time to drink meds and recover. It is more fun if you recover again and again when fighting. It is not fun to get 2 shotted.

    That would be fine there weren't large teams. If you deal damage to one person, another steps up to take their place. It's an infinite cycle of getting nowhere unless there are two teams of roughly equal size. In other words, sheriffs need guns that kill quickly in order to do their jobs properly. It's still balanced combat-wise, but it comes down to more actual skill than numbers. Fights that involve skill are more fun than fights that numbers have a larger impact on the result of the battle. Remember: you can still recover if you take cover.

    This still does not change the fact that one method of buffing is balanced for teems and the other is not. Buffed guns are balanced whether in single combat, or in teams. Buffed armor is sufficient only for 1v1s.

    How so? If armor buffing goes to everyone using the buffed armor, why is it only balanced in 1v1s?

    first: sheriff guns one shot full d, change: sheriff guns do no damage, right now: sheriff guns one shot full d again, isn't this a big circle? I like how some sheriffs complain about their guns when they don't even really use them, what they do is ride on horses and slap everyone with handcuffs

    The sheriff guns don't osk full D. 18kss nearly broke a set of D testing it. Handcuffs cannot be used while combat tagged anymore. The weak guns were why they were used so frequently in the past. If you don't want to be cuffed, attack the sheriff. :v
