    If I were a sheriff, I would probably replace the guns too, because there is always the counterargument that they could have gotten away or killed the sheriff if they had their horse

    If a sheriff is shooting at your horse, your not getting away. Your horse will die in one or two shots. Also, why did you include trying to kill the sheriff? If you tried to kill the sheriff, your not getting anything back. All your loot belongs to the sheriff now.
