Story WarZ Literature - Part 4

We spent the whole night looting the village for anything of importance or interest. We ran into a few undead along the way, but overall we were fine. I was taking the left of the town with Ritzy, whilst Roke covered the right.
'How long do you think that guy will last by himself?' Ritzy murmured to me, as he brought out a map of the surrounding area and a compass, 'I mean, he's alright, but I don't see much hope in him surviving by himself. He's got no Kevlar, no guns, it's pretty hopeless really.'
I picked up the glass bottle and tossed it against the wall. 'He's screwed. He doesn't stand a chance. I know we don't want him around, but we should go and see if he's alive at least.' Ritzy nodded in agreement, before picking up a ammo-pouch, filled with automatic rounds - just what he needed. 'Score!' Ritzy shouted, then loaded his gun and walking towards the front door. 'We need to get this guy and arm him, now thinking back it was a bit stupid to leave him. He could be a great asset to our team.' Ritzy opened the door and walked outside. I followed him, Magnum in hand. 'It's a bit quiet...' I whispered. I spoke too soon. A cry of pain echoed around the town. Almost instantly Ritzy and I changed our walk into a run, bounding towards where the scream came from. 'What the hell do you think happened?!' I panted breathlessy as we rounded the corner. 'I don't know,' Ritzy replied, 'But whatever happened must have been bloody painful.' It took us about thirty seconds from there to make it to where we had left Roke. The first thing we saw was him standing on the top of the museum, and the next thing was a group of armed bandits, climbing up to him. 'Holy-' I began, but I was cut off by another scream. Roke had tied a small hatchet to a rope he must've found, and chucked it towards the area the bandits were climbing up. The hatchet it self flew over the top of the building, but the string stopped it, before dropping it down onto the climbing enemies. The unlucky bandit had been stabbed in the back, screaming in pain again as he fell to the ground, before he went silent. 'Shoot them!' Ritzy yelled, and opened fire onto them. A bandits head snapped round, opened his mouth as if he was about to say something, then he crumpled and fell to the ground. The rest of the bandits hurriedly scrambled down. I rushed forwards, SPAS-24 in hand, and gunned down one. Another one slipped and ended up dangling from the roof, before swearing and falling, accompanied by the crack of bones. The rest of the bandits jumped down and bolted. I managed to get another one in the arm, be he continued relentlessly.
'They'll be back.' came the voice behind me. Roke had already hopped down, and was now gazed towards the abandoned streets of the town, and muttered something. 'The blood moon of Satan will rise as soon as the world collapses under us, and the dead will stand once again, and roam the Earth.' Ritzy just looked at me and shrugged. 'We need to find a safe place to stay for the time being,' he began, 'we definitely can't stay here, so the best option is going to be back were we started...' I nodded slowly. Roke stood up and walked towards a building, revealing a gun that must've been hidden inside his jacket. He went up to the door and pulled down the handle, before pushing it forwards an inch so it wouldn't lock again. 'Get behind me,' he whispered, 'there's someone in there. My SPAS made a satisfying 'Click' as I cocked it, whilst Ritzy swapped magazines for his MP5 behind me. Roke, happy with the fact we were ready, nodded his head at us, before turning round and smashing his boot into the door and bounding inside, pistol in hand. The seemingly empty room suddenly lit up with the glow from the muzzle of the gun. I heard a shout and the sound of something shattering as I ran in, firing shots. My eyes had just adjusted to the light when the firing ceased and I lowered my gun. Bullet holes covered the walls. Shards of what appeared to be a vase lay on the floor, along with the presence of somebody lying on a bullet-riddled chair. 'The other one got upstairs.' muttered Roke, whilst making his way towards the staircase. 'Is he armed?' I asked Roke. He turned to face me. 'He is. He's got a Glock 34 4Gen, however I'm not sure if he's got anything else.' I glanced up the stairs, before taking the first step up. I heard something small drop on the floor and roll around. I stopped, considering what it could be. It didn't take me long to find out. The stun grenade bounced against the wall, landing directly in the middle of the room. 'Flashbang!' Ritzy yelled, 'Get out of here!' I sprinted down the stairs towards the exit, shouting at Ritzy, 'What about-' I was interrupted by a flash of light which temporarily blinded me. My ears were ringing and if I hadn't had my mouth open talking, my eardrums could've exploded. I staggered out onto the road, dazed and confused. Before I knew it, I was lying on the ground with Ritzy and Roke leaning over me, barely recognisable in my blurred vision. I began closing my eyes. Roke shook me and I could see his mouth opening and closing, but all I could hear was the constant ringing. I struggled to sit up, collapsed again and blacked out.

You throw the hatchet with the string on - the hatchet gets pulled back by it and drops - the rope stops it's fall and brings it flying towards the wall, killing the bandits. It can be adjusted by holding the rope differently and stuff, difficult technique but VERY possible.
