So everyone that doesn't die a lot may recognize this problem: Broken armour. When you've been killing a lot of people or have been attacked by a lot of people without dying, you'll see that the durability of your diamond armour will decrease. The only way to solve that problem is to buy a new set of armour, which seems very inefficient.

So I was thinking of a way to repair your diamond ( or other ) armour. And no, repairing it with diamond, gold or iron gems is not what I was thinking of as it would drastically effect the way of fighting. I was thinking of adding a new NPC, the Smith. This NPC repairs your armour for either 50 or 100%. The amount of money it will cost will depends on the armour itself and the current durability of the armour. For example, if the durability of your diamond chestplate is 1/250, the price to repair it to 125/250 would be 1/4th of the original price in the shop ( 10k ) + 5k extra. So repairing your chestplate from 1/250 to 125/250, it will cost you 3k, cheaper than buying a brand new chest piece.

The only problem I see with this concept is that repairing diamond armour will be used more than just buying new armour ( only for the pro people who don't die too often ). So looking at the example I gave you above, I believe there should be no way to repair your armour to full durability. The maximum durability should be 1/2th of the total durability the armour has. So, if your armour is at 1/2500 durability, you can repair it to 1250/2500th durability, which will cost you 3k. If you don't want your armour to break but you fight a lot, it will cost you more to repair your chest piece instead of buying a new one in the shop.

I think this will help players to keep their armour rather than having to spend a lot of money buying a new one.

Hope you liked my idea, please vote in the poll above if this idea should be implemented or not and maybe leave a comment with some suggestions.
    Thanks, RM out!

I'm on the same line with you.

I thought about a blacksmith a while ago.; a NPC that would repair your armor with a cheap cost. I strongly think it should be a very low sum of money, for example 1g per hitpoint. This cheap way would not break the system because your D armor is very unlikely to break just because of fighting. You die usually waaaay before your armor is about to break and to find armor in chests is unlikely. This would also benefit those who want armor to be cheaper.

I like the idea. Also if its going to be a backsmith wouldnt it be useful to be able to buy swords from them?
