Story The Wild West..... Revenge

The year was 1846.

The town of Prosperity had been under the deadly control of criminal known as the Jackal, the town people were desperate.

Within two months, the Judge, Sheriff, Deputy, and various towns people in positions of authority had been gunned down in cold blood.

Candice (@Canoodle ) had been married to the Sheriff for only three years.

She vividly remembered the five bandit horsemen that rode up to their farm that day.

Her husband went out to great them. He was unarmed. They shot him down in front of her and then doused is corpse in alcohol and lit it on fire.

Three years later, on Friday the 13th, the same day as her husband was killed, a loner rider entered the town.

The lone rider was dressed in black.

He war two pistols and carried a "Peacemaker" in his belt. The dark figure rode slow through town.

Many of the townspeople thought he was a bandit and fled to the protection of their homes.

Candice was crossing the street as she saw the man in black ride up to the saloon.

She had been elected Mayor of the town after all the brave men had been killed by the gang known as the bandits.

Watching his movements, she could tell that this was not a man to be trifled with and more than likely this lone rider was a more dangerous than anyone she had ever met.

A cold chill crossed Candice's neck she watched the man in black enter the saloon.

His movements were slow and deliberate as he walked through the saloon doorway.

She followed him inside. The saloon was empty except for the bartender.

The man in black ordered a shot of whiskey from the bar keeper. He took his shot and then moved to the darkest area of the saloon.

Candice was brave.

She walked up to the man and started with "Sir, we don't have any money, and I beg of you not to kill any of the townspeople."

In the shadows, the man shifted in his seat. She couldn't see his face very well in the dark.

He replied back "Just passing through."

She asked, "are you traveling back west?"

He replied, "yes, I am, to Colorado."

Candice felt an opportunity. Perhaps this was the sort of man who could stand up to the bandits.

The bandits had essentially taken over the town after her husband was killed.

She asked, "we would like to hire you for a job."

The man in black looked up at her. Candice had a chance to see his hazel eyes. They were strong, passionate, and had an aura of danger in them.

Candice explained that she was the Mayor and she wanted to hire him to be the sheriff to defend the town.

The man in black answered back "sorry ma'am I'm just passing through."

She was persistent, she knew the fate of the town rested on being able to find someone to protect them.

Candice laid out the story how all the Sheriffs (Mods) who entered the town were killed during the last
three years. She laid out all the details she knew about the gang and how they operated.

The man in black listened to her soft delicate voice as she enchanted him.

Finally, she asked "What's your name sir?"

He replied back, "my friends call me Evil."

"Well Mr Evil, do you have an interest in this job?" The town desperately needs someone to stand up to the bandits."

Deliberately he replied back "yes, I am interested."

And I will need you to telegraph the following people in this list. Evil explained the background on all the men as he dictated to her. Candice wrote down their information as quickly as she could.



Candice looked at the list and it read like a who's who of rogues.
