    As many of you can see, raid is not in the best shape right now. The player count is pathetic to be honest and it breaks my heart. The last thing I want to see is the game mode I know and love die, so please, help us fix it.

    I know that people are busy with school and all right now, as expected, but I would at least expect there being more than 4 people on at a time when 50 or so last year would be on at the same time. I don't think this is the problem here, but I don't really know what all problems exist.

    From what I've heard, people have said that raid is a let down and boring. How can this realistically be fixed? What would you like to see change? What are your complaints or opinions? What do you miss? What do you like about the server, or any of the new additions?

    Please share your thoughts here if you care at all for this gamemode. I need the community's help desperately.

    Note: I'm not saying raid is dying, but things need to change before it does. It is not ok for the server to be in the state it is right now and everyone needs to share their voice.

    My issue is that the power is unevenly split - you have the staff team, you have the CTF team aaaaand you have Meta (or whatever other team is decent). On the previous iteration, although BA55 was a powerful team, there were more teams with trackers and what not.

    I kind of feel that main problems lie in the the fact that people don't want to start over with their **** wiped. My team got our arses handed to us and we haven't been able to get motivated to build the base or to care all over again. Is it a part of the game? Heck yeah. But is it really that much of fun? No.
    (This applies to both the reset stuff and getting raided).

    It just seems like everyone was very well prepared for the reset and got full diamond and stacked within the first few weeks.

    Well how can this be fixed then? We made sure voting was disabled so that people wouldn't spawn items in, so all of the items were grinded for and achieved through vanilla ways.

    Also, for the stacked teams, do you think having team caps would help that? I don't know what else to say other than try to track them and gain power for your team.

    If the server didn't reset, people still would have been mad. It was the same for too long. Where I think we went wrong here is making little to no changes in gameplay this map to spice things up. For motivation to start over, I don't really know what to say, other than maybe new additions to gameplay would help that?

    If you agree, new gameplay additions need to be discussed so badly, so please share any ideas for that.

    Personally - I blame spawn - Its brown and grey and while I used to just wonder around spawn chatting on the last 2 maps, I have found myself staying as far away from spawn as possible. Its not very bright and colourful - not very inviting. (No offence to AndyBear - I just don't like the colours.)

    Oracle, Same with the rest of the servers, rofl.
    Get someone like a youtuber to advertise Raid. But that would probably cost money.
    The only servers on brawl that are not dead YET are McBuild & MinecraftParty.

    Me and my team quit due to being raided so much so early. Not even two days go by. That isn't the raid I remember.

    The biggest thing that's put me off from playing it is the world border being so small. I know raid is going to be reset a lot more, but that doesn't mean it needs to be easier to raid people. Raiding should be hard, because getting raided absolutely sucks.

    How to make it better (my personal thoughts)

    Firstly I feel that the first impression of spawn is a major let down. I mean no disrespect to builders who spent countless hours on this amazing spawn, how ever this is not just any other game mode. This is raid, and generally raid server spawns are basic and simple. This may sound dumb but I feel if you are going to approach a mcpvp feel to the server, (I'm guessing this due to the "new" IP adress which contains mcpvp) you may aswell keep the theme running.

    Secondly, the most basic reasons on why "mcpvp.com" was popular and thriving was simply because of youtubers. I can recall 5 youtubers with 15,000+ subscribers that activity posted mcpvp lets plays. One of them which you may be aware of is leafy, lol ikr? I'm not sure how you would do it, but a simply weekly video of brawl but a decently sized Youtuber would make a difference.

    Finally, For one to make a successful raid server, one must also make a successful HG server, again this is just my personal opinion but if you looked at mcpvp, both servers benifeted from eachother. Raid attracted HG players and vice versa. Not to mention the fact that some HG you tubers who had 70,000+ subscribers gave a great influence to people that enjoyed soup pvp, but also enjoyed SMP, which may of led them into a raid server.

    I hope this helps out, not sure if it will but this is all I have :/
    Hopefully you can get my point of view on this. Anyway I'll see you on raid I guess.

    It's also because it's so laggy that you can't even pvp! The teams need to have a max players of 5, reason why? i run out of spawn i see a team of 10 not gonna say names.

    Hmm I guess so. I just don't want to go back and extend my trackers for this.

    Having a youtuber would help a lot ofc, but how will we get one? That will take time and most likely money.

    For the spawn, I don't think that is really an issue. I personally believe that there needs to be a spawn that will be breath takingly beautiful to give off a great first impression to new comers.

    I also was looking for reasons why people quit too, because it would be great if we could get them to come back

    Well what would help people to PvP? A daily iron kit maybe? A killing prize? Bounties?

    I feel like there may need to be a more obvious and obtainable way to track? When I started playing umpteen years ago, it took me 6+ months to realize that tracking even existed. Smaller teams will quit much sooner because it takes far too long to mine out all the supplies to track. And lets face it, Minecraft is mainly played by 12-13 year olds who are known to have little patience and lack the ability to understand how tracking works (not saying that 12-13 year old players are the only view holders on this opinion).     I don't have an obvious solution for it. But I feel like, based off of other player's quotes, that this is one of the key factors to today's issues. Maybe implement a little more to make the game feel unique as well? Changing the tracking system could give a new experience to both new and old players.

    Trackers could be made from stone (like the temp) or some other generic material. When hitting /track there's a loading bar that lingers around, taking longer to "track" as it searches for further away players. The larger the tracker the less accurate it is; forcing players to have little, but some experience.
    This method could coexist with the current tracking method if some people feel sour about it. I'm sure a small formula could be coded to make the tracker's loading time take longer as it tracks out a larger volume. It'd be cool to even see a variety and different styles of trackers. Dirt, cobble, wood, quarts, obsidian, iron/emerald, could all have unique features that alter loading time, accuracy, and precision when tracking.
    Not saying we have to do this. But tweaking the current tracking system would help newer players get involved with what Raid's about.

    I'm planning to make it easier to learn tracking, well an attempt anyways. I don't want to say anything as of now since I need to finish the plans and need some help of others, but hopefully it will help people.

    Fix: Reset the server again, adding new features as weekly koths, and other stuff that might destroy the "vanilla feeling", before opening be sure to everything EVERYTHING is fixed, lag, msg, everything, this map is just pathetic

    and tbh the server will never have good player base unless it isn't 1.7.

    Ok. Thanks for your opinion. I'm not sure if another reset would just anger the community more tho, as work has already been put into this map by many

    If you're thinking about a video, giving new players a book with the video's link may be needed (assuming they know how to click the link). We've got to think of new player's as new beings coming into the world of MC. XD

    and yea, as mentioned have daily iron kits with a set of pots, and soups which will make it much more fun! :grinning:

    I understand that defenetly, a way could be closing the server, changing like the spawn (not liked of many), and other stuff as adding other plugins and fix the countless bugs, fix the lag, and everything that needs to be adressed. Then open it saving everything, like bases, and iv and yea you know. But this might not work to various reasons,,,

    My thoughts on raid were this.

    Boarders are too small, people had full map trackers within the first week, if you even built anywhere you'd get raided because of how small and easy it is to find people nowadays. Raid was meant to be raid or be raided, while yes that is mostly true it's not fun to lose everything consistently by teams that already controlled the map. It's basically one or fewer teams dominating the map.

    Raid is not fun, you're limited what you can do from boarders and such.

    Players dominating within the first few days. Again as I said above, people were too dominate too early.

    Pretty much everything above is already said but addressing it more can help. Increase the map boarder to a extremely large size, although not the best idea out of all it does help out those who at least don't want to get raided on the first damn week constantly. Fixing the bugs and letting users test the server if any of the known bugs by the community are still there. If boarders and other ideas of other users are implemented, then maybe Raid can survive.. Not sure about it being 1.7 though, shame..
