The way things are going.

It indeed was never this bad.. Last year it would be around 60~80 players when it was active, and about 20 players when it wasn't active.. Now its 20-30 for active and 8 for inactive..

 

There weren't many good players (60+) last few years. There are a lot more 60+ and they destory noobs -> they leave, so not a lot of people. The new players also dont tell their friends about the server. It is a snowball effect.
Good players -> destory noobs -> dont play -> dont tell their friends -> less people voting (Because there are less people) -> Less new players(Less votes -> less publicity) -> No fun because there are not a lot of players -> They quit -> Dont tell their friends

It just continiues till there are 0 players.

Yet this doesn't explain why Brawl is dying. This just explains why War is dying.
If all of the gamemodes are dying, there must be a few other reasons.

BUT GUYS, BRAWL ISN'T DYING. JUST KEEP PLAYING, TELL YOUR FRIENDS, AND MOST OF ALL: HAVE FUN!

I honistly think it is not too bad as of right now. People just keep saying brawl is dying, so they get less motivated and stop while there is no "real" reason for it. Just don't think about it. Just tell the people that it is not true and keep having fun.

I do know that there are a lot less players. I said brawl is dying too.
It used to be like 800 players, now 200 rip

 

The players don't only leave war and brawl, like you said,... they,... Simply stop playing minecraft. I think it's why our playerbase it growing so slowly, I think it's the same everywhere, on the bigs servers too. It's explainable, Minecraft is an old game, the old players lost their interest, and nobody is buying the game now... Minecraft is close to reverse its growth line, more players are quitting than joining, mainly because of the lack of news major updates the last two years and half.

So yeah, that's my opinion, I don't think Brawl is losing players because of the server's quality (forget war in this exemple), but because of Minecraft. Of course, the server has an impact, take MinecraftBuild for exemple, it's more popular than every other brawl server combined these days, that's because it still fun (no Pay2win aspects?) and old PvPer who aren't interested by Ctf or Hg (for exemple) just started to have fun here.

 

Most of the Brawl players are people who have been playing Minecraft for a long time, and they stay here for nostalgia reasons. New Minecraft players will go to Hypi.. You know what I mean.. Brawl should really make gamemodes in the same way as bigger server.
For example Wild West: This server would never work if it had about 300 players.. There would be way too many people online and it would be impossible to mine ores or process drugs.
If Brawl wants to succeed it will sadly have to make more minigame type servers.

 

The main issue is that when a new player joins, it's so hard to play because you are getting 1 shot straight away. This has happened to me and it got so boring just because I'd 4 shot and they would 1 shot. People quit and ye. Also games do get boring, war hasn't been changed a lot in what? 2 years? People will quit but war2.0 is coming, I think it will be out by Christmas, probably earlier.

Thanks for thinking I have the potential, but I'll need to contradict you ^.^

Yeah, the community usually see me as a friendly, helpful player, but trust me, I will probably not have the good reaction if someone is breaking some points of the rules, and my English, well you know how bad it is xD.
But I learn everyday, I'm always improving my English and my maturity. Perhaps I'll apply later, if I feel myself ready.

I personally think that @Algelier is the best candidate for UE war mod, if he still want to apply, basing of some of his messages. Still good luck ^.^

 

Its so dumb how people like @BlackD1amond r lvl 94 and i have 15k more kills and a .5 better kd but they are 11 lvls higher

I've truly wasted my time doing my best to become a fit applicant. But as I've already said I still got denied for unknown reasons, so yeah I won't apply in the future. But thanks for tagging me though.

Yes you may have a better kdr than me and 15k more kills but I contributed money to chaps inventory on cs... I mean the server up keep. And I could have the same kdr as you if I had 15k more kills and I played longer

 

Its not that brawl is dying, its the Minecraft as a whole is dying. Many people have simply moved on to other games, and the majority of the remaining players that play multiplayer are sticking to larger servers (Mineplex, Hypixle etc). Also Brawl at the moment is not very new player friendly. Most players that have stayed for this long have such an advantage over anyone that is new. For a player that has just joined war and is level 1, it is near impossible to play if you are fighting people who are level 60+ and have much more skill than that player and much better weapons. WarZ is just the same. Everybody that has played for a long time usually has a team or has such good gear, that a new player will be just completely destroyed the second they encounter that player. Maybe the new gamemodes (War and WarZ 2.0) that are supposed to come out will fix this problem in some ways, but it will not bring Brawl back to what it used to be.

 

I think Brawl should either make another version of games or reset them. They cant just keep jam packing there server with more games

 

Sadly, I don't know if I really count, since I used to be a CTF player (though I mained pyro and ninja, both of which were nerfed, and I just couldn't climb out of the hole the nerf dug for me).

Having gotten further into war then I was when I posted that, I have to say that I still stand by what I said. It progressively gets more fun as I (slowly) rank up, but getting to that point was not all that fun, and that's the issue. A lot of players who aren't dedicated to brawl because they used to play another gamemode would just give up and go find something else where they got to the fun right away, which means no new player for us. People say that war 2.0 is a myth, and even now it still isn't happening. Lets face it, at one point, they were right, we can't deny that. At some point, war 2.0 was just a myth to get people to shut up and stop asking, but its gone beyond that now. At that point, it wasn't needed. Brawl was fine as it was. Now is not then, and war 2.0 is MC-War's last chance at redemption, and that's why even if it wasn't real, it is now, and we just have to trust the brawl staff to get it done, that's all we can do.

 

There aren't enough new players being added or sticking around.

The are multiple issues such as: lack of updates, issues with Sr Mods, how the mod program is run, lack of changes, etc.

I would recommend talking about specific issues and how to improve them.

 

The only problems are though that the code is like a very specific fragile glass, oranges code breaks. I think the only changes that don't involve breaking the code more is changing stats on guns. Not sure if there's going to be anymore major updates to War :c
