Chatreporting - What gets accepted and what not

A guide to /chatreporting telling what gets accepted and what not:

Spoiler: What does /chatreport do?

/chatreport is a way to to report chat rulebreakers. It reports the previous 30 lines of chat you've seen to staff (MOD+), so they can check it and decide if it's punishable.

NOTE: There are no strict rules on chatreporting on what does and what does not get accepted. This guide is based on personal experience.

NOTE: Anything labeled with orange I'm unsure of/don't have much experience.


Deathwishes/deaththreats: Anything wishing or wanting to kill a person
Examples (deathwish):
drink bleach, kys, gas the jews etc.

Examples (deaththreat):
I will kill your family, I will bomb you etc.

Note: It will also count as a deathwish if someone says "killing myself" and someone else in the chat is agreeing with it.

Examples:
yey, sounds nice, cool etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment (mute): 1

DDoS and DoX threats:

• Anything threatening to DDoS or DoX anything

Examples: I'm about to DDoS/DoX you, I'm going to DDoS this server etc. (even threatening to DDoS/DoX an inanimate object would probably get accepted because DDoSing/DoXing is such a serious matter)

Amount of offenses for punishment (temp-ban): 1

Advertising:

• Anything advertising a server, channel (or a site?) not related to Brawl

Examples:
Join this server [ip] for awesome KitPvP!, yo check out this channel etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment (1 year mute): 1

Flooding:

• Anything that is close togther filling up at least one chat "line"

Examples:
jhdkahfkhkfskjfkjfkjsfksjhfkjfkah, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), go go go go go go go go go go etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment: 1

Racist slurs:

• Anything racist

Examples:
n-word, asians have tiny eyes, white people suck etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment (mute): 1

Chatfilter bypassing:

• Anything that finds a way around the censor

Examples:
fck, damm, a s s, hoe etc.

Note: Non-english words that would normally be censored in english count as bypassing.

Examples:
fitta, cyka blyat etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment (mute): 1 according to Roke, but most staff accept with 2

Hackusating:

• Anything that accuses a player of hacks

Examples:
hax, killaura, hacker, etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment (mute): 2

Staff impersonating:

• Anything impersonating staff

Examples:
stop or I'll ban/mute you, I own this server etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment (mute): 1 or 2

Inappropriate:

• Anything deemed as 18+ or otherwise for mature audience

Examples:
wanna have sex?, porn, anus etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment (mute): 2 or 3 depending on offense

Disrespect/flame:

• Anything disrespectful against a player or human

Examples:
u suck, ez, your mom is ugly etc

Amount of offenses for punishment (mute): 3

Spam:

• Anything typed in at least three different messages in a short time-frame

Examples:
hi - t - hi my name is jeff
hi - h - hi my name is jeff
hi - t - hi my name is jeff
etc.

Caps:

• Anything over 60% caps

GIGGLE etc.

Amount of offenses for punishment: 3 (usually in different messages)

Profanity:

• Swearing

Examples:
s-word, f-word, damn etc

Amount of offense for punishment: 3

Slander:

• Slander

Examples:
Chap is a rapist, he went OOM yesterday, Brawl's router sucks etc.

Note: Hackusating is slander, but will be reported as hackusating.

Amount of offenses for punishment (mute): 1-2 depending on offense

Please remember that if a report gets accepted or not depends heavily on the person checking the reports. Most staff follow this list of mine, but some do not.
