    Sup Brawlers

In this thread I am hoping to bring out what War was, is, and going to be. I hope this will be a motivation to you.

    The Past
    2012-2013

This was War's high time. Everyone who joined was fun, good-natured, and active. You would see someone a day, and continually see that person for months. The people who played in that era filled up 14 servers a day, maybe more. War used to be the most popular server on Brawl. War used to be the face of Brawl. In this high time, many dedicated people leveled up, and played a lot. Those people still play today, but many left. War had great staff during this time as well.

The clans in that era were also an inspiration. Each clan had their ups and downs, but the clan wars that happened were truly something that molded the game.

    2014-2015

War was still popular, but you could tell it was fading. Staff retired, numbers dwindled, and Brawl was making new gamemodes, not focusing on updating war. It was still a great time. Players still filled up 10 servers, and each clan actually had their own server that they played on consistently. Wouldn't that be great if there was enough people to do that again? We can't seem to manage to get over 30 people on a Saturday. But enough with that. 2014 and 2015 was a high time, because many new players came, bought the donor guns, and played consistently.

    The Present
    2016

Even though War had such a bright past, it's time as the most popular server was done. I don't know what exactly happened, but at the beginning of 2016, people just.. left. Players still filled up one or two servers, but it was nothing compared to the past. The EULA didn't help either. War (and all of Brawl) really took a hit after that. War now has a hard time to fill up half of a server.

    The Future

Now I can't predict the future, (xD) but I have an idea. If Totom pulls through, and War 2.0 debuts, War has hope. I think War 2.0 will be fantastic, and it will bring many players to play it, and legacy War.

For all of you that still play consistently, trying to make a new clan grow, or just playing because it's fun, I admire you. Thank you for your dedication and strength to stand through the thick and thin. New clans are still growing these days. People still work hard on their own clan, and I admire them for that as well. I love seeing new players join War; asking what guns are the best, what gun to use on which map, if they can join a clan. These people are War's future, and you all are War's future. Whether War dies, or lives, thank you for playing with me, and I hope to see more of you come and go in the future. :')

All the old players got bored, new players find it hard to fit in cause guns are unbalanced. It was going to happen eventually. Sad to admit to it but that's my thought on it

Brawl started dying when people like Dwarfiest and CraftingLumberJack left and then even more when joeymast got banned after that everyone started leaving.

Something happened in 2015 that hastened the departure of many players. The Eula blacklisting occured. The root cause of this was poor preperation.

Throughtout the last 3 years the lack of updates, non-release of 2.0 and constant mismanagement got war to where it is now.

In my opinion it all comes down to Leadership and getting things done.

If 2.0 is ever released I'm not sure if it will attract new players.

Leadership needs to try new things, grow, and be professional for things to change. War is in a death spiral it will take a lot of hard work to reverse that trend.

    Bold new leadership is needed.

People aren't as hyped for war 2.0 as they could be. When it does come out, people will say "finally" and just play.

And over hyping it is the last thing that would be good for it. Over hyping something will make it be not as magical/fun.

I don't think 2.0 will get many players. When it first releases it will attract many players. After a few months it will be like war is now.

In the state that War is right now, War 2.0 is really just gonna be players ranting "ABOUT TIME". I'm gonna be happy but I'm pretty sure we're gonna need to advertise it to get a good foundation of players going, and then hopefully it will grow again as long as staff keeps an eye on it and ensure good development and maintenance. I stopped playing War around August, it was rare to see 30+, sometimes even 20+ players on, and at one point I really just gave up.

I'm pretty sure War 2.0 has hope so long it doesn't write the same story as War.

not rly... it started dying when they released op annoying weapons like ray and bow. those people helped popularize cbow-spamming and contributed more to the decline of war than help.

Then EULA didn't help that either. Pay to win was always problem, even though those who donated enjoyed it immensely

The current community is too small and shriveled up to attract new players.

Not only is it small, the ratio of good players who been around for at least a year to newer players is too low.
