Wait until Totom is done with war 2.0, there are grand plans to revive HG, and by that, I'm pretty sure HG will be popular again after those plans are completed

I don't usually post outside of ctf, but I'm just going to point out this attitude is never going to solve the problems you face. When times become tough quitting doesn't solve anything. There's still a chance the gamemode can be revived with the right coder and the right suggestions implemented. If you don't even try how can you hope to succeed?

do you see any better options?
Munchy has no staff and the few staff are corrupt and decadent;
Simple is ok but declining, and has no anticheat OR A /report COMMAND or any moderators;
DojoHG is owned by 2 DDoSers and SWATters who threaten schmockyyy 2 times a day;
BrawlHG may not have the playerbase but it has an anticheat, it has competent staff, it has more balanced kits (with the exception of Viking), it has veterans, it has newbs, it has events where most playstyles are available, and so on. The only thing it lacks are players in EU times.

You made a "quitting HG" outro in which you whined about Brawl's staff about 5 minutes after your application for HG moderator was denied. In the thread you attempted to "expose" Canoodle/Cuddled as an incompetent staff manager. In the ensuing arguments you got a post from @DreamOnPvP about how MunchyHG is better.
Let me just put that straight.
Munchy has awful coding. It has a playerbase who just run and run once you've killed their teammate, them spamming "f***ot hacker" or similar.
Are you saying you think that kind of player is healthy for a HG server?
Do you think that SimpleHG's lack of an anticheat, moderators with competence, or sportsmanship is good?
If you answered yes to those 2 questions, I think you need to reconsider what you put into this thread.

Actually, HG has more active players than it used to have when mcpvp shut down. They are just spread across many different servers. I wouldn't call HG a dead gamemode. It's really just hibernating.

Honestly, updates at this point aren't going to do any good. The reason why HG is dead as a doornail right now is... summer is over. I think I did a pretty good job of getting people to play this summer, it came back for quite awhile and seemed semi-prosperous. However, I ultimately failed at getting players to STICK with HG once the summer was over.

Even when I was still a staff member, player counts were already being hit hard - it wasn't anyone's fault, it wasn't because of a lack of updates, and it wasn't because our gamemode is any less than Munchy/Simple/Dojo/any other server (haven't played on any of these servers for months now; so I actually don't know how accurate that statement is). American summer is over; and people went back to school. It can't be helped.

To be honest, at least shutting down two more servers, for the time being is not a bad idea at all to save money. There are any number of options that can be pursued at this point that would maximize the experience people have (allowing them to still play when they want to) and saving on costs.

 

I think maybe we could shut down 2 servers at max, that would increase game sizes by a decent amount.
I still don't think Munchy or Simple or Dojo are any better.
Brawl has better coding, but the release of HG was overly rushed (imo) which meant it had bugs, which meant players left.
I personally think some events will increase the popularity again, but maybe that's just me.
