    Hello Brawlers,

I am slowly getting into KitBrawl, and enjoying it more and more, so I figured I could give a basic guide on how to improve your PvP skills. KitBrawl has some skilled fighters, so if you want, you can use these tips to improve your PvP.

    What will this thread cover?
This thread will go over some of the basic PvP terms and skills needed to become a decent fighter. The topics will include the following:

    • Butterfly/Jitter clicking
    • Strafing
    • Aiming
    • Soup and Potions

    Butterlfy/Jitter clicking
This method is used a lot by professional PvPers, like Huahwi and PrivateFearless. This is basically when you click your left click on your mouse super fast, in hope to land more hits on your opponent. There are many tutorials on youtube on how to do this. Although I don't have one on my channel, I may record one soon. It seems quite complicated, but its really not. You can hold your mouse any way that seems comfortable for you, but you have to tighten up your arm that you are using to click, and kind of vibrate it, or lightly shake it, so you click the mouse. At first, you might be very shaky when clicking, but with practice, and patience, you will get much better.

Here is a tutorial by a guy named Zephhyre :

    Strafing
Strafing sounds like some fancy foreign word, but it is basically going left and right around your opponent. If you go into your minecraft controls, you will notice that there are some controls called Strafe Left, and Strafe Right. If you don't play around with your controls, the strafe left key should be "A" and the strafe right key should be "D". They are very helpful when fighting, because it allows you to dodge your opponent which makes it harder for them to hit you.

Here is a tutial on how to strafe by mk2183 :

    Aiming
Theres not really much to say about this topic, but all you have to do is practice clicking fast, and moving your mouse so your cross hair (little plus sign thingy) is on the player.

Here is another tutorial by mk2183 on aiming :

    Soup and Potions
Soup and Pots are very useful. But it takes practice to use them. You can use your 1-0 keys, but that can be hard if you have your hotbar setup with soup all over the place. It may be a good idea to throw out empty bowls, if the server allows it. This way, your hotbar is more organized and it is easier yo see your soup. You have to kind of time when you throw pots, because they go out in front of you. You should look at the ground when throwing them, because they hit the ground faster, and give you what ever the effect may be quicker.

Pot and soup tutorial by MadMaker7 :

Why is PvP a good skill to know?
Too many people think that PvP is just something that doesn't matter that much. It is actually something that people should know. It is something that you can strive to get better at. I'm not amazing at PvP, but hey, i'm decent. I didn't just load up Minecraft one day and decide to go fight people on KitBrawl. I logged on, and I instantly knew that there where all these people who were so much better than I was. PvP is hard, and requires much practice, patience, and skill. My aim is not that great, but I'm working on it. PvP is something people should be able to do because it it a basic part of Minecraft. You cant just go on a factions server and have the skills to go take out any faction and raid their base. If you cant fight, you would easily get killed in a 2v1, or a 3v1 with a faction. If you are good at PvP, maybe you can beat that 2v1 and get their loot. PvP is always helpful in Minecraft because sometimes you might get challenged by some skrubs that want to be cocky and try and show off their PvP skills. This is very impractical, but hey, it could happen xD. PvP is just an overall good skill to know.

I hope this guide helps a little! Please comment whatever you want to know, if what I said was not clear enough, or I forgot to include something.

    Have a good one!,

Dualley, this is useful to newer players to kitpvp, for they are against real competition! Think about it you have people playing kitpvp when it began! Then these new players come along and they are like "what." This is going to be very useful for them new players out there!

Blockhitting can help as well. I use blockhits to get out of combo's it helps me a lot.

Bad idea. Blockhitting is detrimental to PvP in many ways as it slows you down, allowing an opponent to strafe you much faster.
If you're in a close-quarters fight (e.g. a cave), blockhit. If you're in an Anchor fight in HG blockhit. If you're tryharding and doing an 8-block/sprintreset technique, blockhit. Otherwise, don't!

Blockhitting was removed in minectaft 1.8

True, but if you are just trying to get hits and not really strafe, blockhitting could help.

Untrue, blockhitting and always pressing the w key is only going to benefit the one using it. It gives unnatural amount of kb. If you're trapped in a corner, blockhitting will easily get you out of there. If you're both straightlining and non of you are taking kb, usually the first one to blockhit will win that situation leading into a combo. Happened a lot on the old kitbrawl (because you had no speed, meaning strafing isn't a big advantage), This is coming from the stats player you called out on another post :3

I never said anything about W-Taps. I was only referring to blockhitting.

They're the same thing dontcha know? They both break sprint, and give massive kb (if used properly). Except that blockhitting reduces damage.

I want to suggest something regarding this:
I would rather butterfly clicking than jittering because as I have read it has a chance to result to the "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome", which you shouldn't worry much about but it gives you an unpleasant feel on your arm.
I would rate butterfly clicking safer because of the fact you use two different fingers.
