I don't think its much of a secret that fighting on horses gives you a considerable advantage, whether you're a bandit or a sheriff, as you can just ride in and model spam, and whenever you're low on health, you can ride away, drink meds, then just ride back. If your opponent doesn't have a horse and you do, you'll almost always win.

To fix this, you should only be able to use pistols when you're on a horse. This means you can't use T-G, Carcano, Model, handcuffs or anything on a horse - all you can use is the LeMat, Volcanic or Mauser (or Revolver if you're a sheriff). Being on horseback would still give you an advantage, but it would make the battle a little bit fairer than it would be now.

By not having handcuffs work when you're on a horse, it would make riding in and handcuffing an opponent a little harder than it would be now. This strategy only really makes a difference if the opponent would fight back, as you can ride in on a horse and cuff them before they stand a chance to fight back. Its not really fun for the bandit when this happens, as all the gear and processed goods they have on them is lost in a very quick, lame battle (if you could even call it a battle).

This would mean going after people on a horse would be harder too, but as sheriffs are allowed to kill their horse, it wouldn't end up being too much of an issue. It also makes running away from sheriffs a little bit easier, which is good if you're a new player with bad gear, who wouldn't stand a chance in the first place.

How about disabling horse combat all together? If you get shot at, your horse should be "scared" and shake you off.

If anything, horses should be buffed. Having a horse is essential to winning fights, and removing the ability to use shotguns/rifles on horseback will definitely destroy some of the tactics involved with the current PvP system.

Also, removing handcuffs while on horseback seems a little bit unfair for sheriffs, who would essentially have to physically dismount and hope that a lucky right click hits a player, who is already speeding away on horseback.

Horses are pretty easy to kill. One time, a guy almost killed my horse, and he had a Volcanic. One shot from it took out a lot of health.

This is already a thing. If the horse is damaged theres a chance you're "thrown" off your horse

    It's a very small chance.

In my experience, the "chance" is usually 90% of the time. This feature has won me many fights, and I'm becoming increasingly dependent on it to win.

When I'm hitting a horse that someone is riding in town, it takes me around 10 hits to get them to fall off.

Yes, being in a horse gives a big advantage, but it's not too hard to kill a horse. You could 1 shot it with T-G or Model / Mauser spam to kill it.

But in fact, if you're the guy in the horse, and the opponent is skilled, you have a big chance to lost. I can see 2 ways to nerf it:

-Increasing the probability of falling the horse if it's attacked while combat tagget to a 90%.
-Decreasing the speed of the horse while combat tagged.

I am quite bad at horse PvP, but in my opinion, I think it is (mostly) balanced.
The 'only using pistols' on the horse idea is interesting, people would start to use mausers again, but I am not sure if people would like that.

I like it how it is. It is very hard to shoot accurately when on a speedy since the bullets go 10 blocks to the left or the right of where you aimed. I'd say being off a horse is easier from my experience. Yes you can ride away, but I think its fine as it is. Disabling Horse combat removes a huge game aspect of WildWest.

I think this would be too big of a nerf. Horses should give at least some advantage in combat, even if its small. But still, I think this is better than what it'd be now.
Horses being essential to winning fights is a bad thing, in my opinion. If you don't have a horse, you just get too much of a disadvantage that its very rare to win.
Sheriffs are allowed to kill someone's horse if they run away from them. They could still do this with the pistol, then get off their horse and handcuff the player.

I like the fact of Sheriffs not being able to cuff you one horse, not the fact that you cant use a model or TG on a horse.

How would they cuff a player on a speedy then?

Verlyn has a good point because let's say we are chasing a train robber who is on a speedy. I can't kill their horse because they will be in town. I have a slight chance of knocking them off their horse, but they will get right back on. And by the time they get knocked off, and go back on, I will have no where near as much time to get in cuff range, get ff my horse, and then cuff. It will never work out and we will never get our jobs done.

Good point. @Mario, you might want to look at this if you are planning to disable handcuffing while on a horse.

Well, it think what @Killer_Kameron means is when a sheriff comes into a rebel base on a speedy and rides up to you and cuffs you before you can even pull out your gun.
    (Yeah, it happens that fast)

This is normal and should perfectly be allowed. It is your job as a bandit to be alert at all times for any sheriffs that will come. And you will have plenty of time to see if a sheriff is there because in almost all cases, you will be in the almost enclosed proc building, tobacco being the only exception.
