Raid has obviously died.

I played Raid and Badger back on MCPVP. I personally think that Raid is a more fitting name, due to the point of having factions v. factions, but SurvivalPvP also sounds cool imo. I like both names (even though I don't play, to Team Meta's dismay ).

 

The game gets a decent amount of players on the weekends, but yeah, I think remaking the game into something new is what caused some players to stop playing. They were given something they didn't ask for. All they were asking for was a reset to the map and that's it.
I don't play it anymore, but I would if my team was still playing.

 

A lot of players would prefer factions more. Tracking takes too long to become proficient at, and the idea of having an unprotected base is definitely an unappealing one.

 

lol no. If we wanted a factions server we would've asked for one. Raid is great, but it gave us too many changes that we don't like/didn't ask for as Gehenna_Beam stated above. There were tons of players that knew how to track, just took some time and effort. I believe factions would take much more time and effort to become good at, and the whole point of "raid" is to raid. Personally, I would rather track someone and raid them then have to go through the whole process of learning factions and finding bases and making cannons to raid.

You do make fair points. However, Hardcore Survival players are far and few, it's not everyday you meet an actually experienced tracker. Faction servers are a lot more common, and by far easier to understand. Mastering Faction tracking and commands is a lot easier, as all you need to do is spam /f map. As for the cannons, you can find a limitless amount of helpful guides on Redstone comprehension. Tracking on Raid, however, is downright confusing, and from personal experience, requires an actual mentor to understand. Factions also is a lot more newbie friendly, and the idea of having a protected base through /f claim is a lot more appealing than having a base that can be easily mined up with minimal effort.

 

I have been on faction servers that had '/warp cannon' just to show and explain what cannons to use on different walls and their advantages and disadvantages, even hypixel creative has a tutorial/walkthrough map teaching players How To improve their builds. Raid on the other hand hasn't even got info wall to explain anything to players/noobs so the Noob's just quit... There is so many simple things that staff haven't bothered to fix, add or remove instead they are willing to watch raid die :/

 

I understand why factions would be a viable option, but personally I think if there ever was to be a factions server it should be seperate to raids. I personally learned tracking from trial and error, asking a few questions from people I knew could track, and some YouTube videos. It does take time and effort, but I think the solution we're all looking at here is a sort of tutorial for survival pvp to make the new players understand what's going on and what Raid is all about.

 

We asked for a tutorial for new players so when they logged on, they got an intro as to how to play - We didn't get it, thus new players log on, and go 'wtf do I do here' then leave, and we never see them again

Factions - Its too common, there are tonnes of factions servers. I played it for a while and I absolutely hated the process of breaking through 50 walls of obsidian... it was so boring.

Raid is getting a revamp thanks to @0racle - we are getting a new, familiar spawn, and because he is a long time player, he knows what we want, and I'm sure he will get these changes added and fixed.

 

Yes, I have been planning a fairly large update recently, which I am extremely excited for. Hopefully you all will enjoy it and hopefully the player count will be restored.
