I have come to the conclusion that clinton supporters are quite upset. best not poke them further. im just glad my candidate won. ^-^ with that, I say gg. cant wait for a better country, and ill be leaving this thread now.

 

Lol upset is a understatement. Our president is a national embarrassment for 4 long years. The country is screwed because uneducated people believe trumps impossible claims. Absolutely unbelievable.

Yea, trump supporters seem to actually believe he is gonna change things. Like how? The things he listed he says will happen like bringing back manufacturing jobs is pretty much impossible unless you force american companies to do it which will totally wreck our economy and send us to a depresssion. This will also never happen because the senate isn't dumb enough to kill our own economy. They are also not dumb enough to build a pointless wall and shut off trade with other countries. The next four years will be an absolute embarrassment in American history.

Dear Senator Bennet,

Congratulations on your win!

Now the difficult part. I voted for you to represent my interests and I will continue to support you.

I am asking you to resist every position president Trump puts forward.

Like the Colorado Buffaloes, "Welcome to the Fight slogan," I want you to fight for us.

I am asking you to resist and obstruct in the way Republicans did against President Obama every day for last eight full years.

I do not want to see a wall go up, or mass deportations of immigrants. The Affordable Care Act, needs to be supported however you can. I am asking you to filibuster, obstruct, and resist.

We live in a country where a majority of its citizens have said they believe there's climate change, they believe women should be paid the same as men, they want a debt-free college education, they don't want us invading countries, they want a raise in the minimum wage and they want a single-payer true universal health care system. None of that has changed.

We live in a country where the majority agree with the "liberal" position.

I want to see the Electoral College repealed and replaced so that the POTUS is elected by the majority.

I am asking a lot, it's going to be a tough 4 years. I speak on behalf of thousands of friends. We want to see you fight for us.

I will happily support you financially and through volunteering.

Hey look, someone who's upset with the undemocratic system and is trying to actually do something about it!
I can get behind most of this, tbh.

Absolutely repeal a lot of what Trump said he'd do (if he does it) of you don't believe in it because you can. Hell, of something comes up that you happen to support, support it, because you can!
Actually do something your political system allows you to do instead of being a butthurt idiot about it and rioting like portland which solves nothing and actively proves Trump supporters right.


However, at the very least, try to see what people who opposed Hillary were saying from the beginning, considering that the system was rigged against them and they still won anyways.

Make a goddamn change, but next time, maybe don't allow the people in charge to play you like fiddles. I lean somewhat liberal, and even I supported Trump over Hillary in this election because ironically he represented a more liberal version of democracy, where the people's choice gets elected to run for them instead of them having that choice rigged.

Next time, maybe at the very least, don't let someone as sh*t as Hillary run.

That's the kind of elitist attitude (half my family is from the South, mainly Tennessee and Georgia: yeah I know a bunch of dumb Southerners!) which is exactly why the "new Democrats" (a.k.a. neoliberals who support gay rights, abortion, and pot) are absolutely terrible at beating Republicans and why Clinton (the embodiment of a "new Democrat") was electorally crushed by Donald Trump (and won the popular vote by a measly 0.3%. Omg so popular!!!). Everyone likes the smartest kid in the class until they go out of their way to rub it in everyone's faces. I was put off by the whole #ImWithHer bullsh*t from day one along with all this talk of Clinton's "experiance" and still am. No one owns my vote. You have to earn that. And no one is stupid for not voting a certain way. It sure is easy to say "oh lol look at those dumb midwesterners/southerners voting for Trump" but part of the reason why they're not flocking to Democrats is because they've done everything possible to p*ss those voters off for the last forty years (i.e. selling out to corporate America).

Oh and let's not kid ourselves here. We have no idea what Trump is going to do (for the most part). The man supported universal healthcare back in 2000 and even briefly proposed higher taxes on the wealthy and CUTTING Pentagon spending in half this year. He's changed his party affiliation more than a horny teenager changes condoms, as an example of this he was a Democrat until the end of the George W. Bush administration. Trump also supported the Iraq War (initially) and then opposed it a year or two later. He is neither a Democrat nor a Republican and seems to do whatever gets him the most attention because he's an extreme narcissist. There's every reason to be worried about what his Administration would do on virtually everything and I think what you've done with the letter format (in your other post) is great Evil. Take action and stop some of this crap. But Trump is not an agent of the apocalypse. He's certainly awful, but not apocalyptic. Somehow the world will survive (just like how we survived the Civil War, which was certainly more of a big deal than the election of Donald Trump).
