You may have read the title with confusion, but there's a few ways Minecraft servers are similar to churches.

Different servers have different kinds gamemodes and players. Same with churches with different styles of worship and different kinds of people.

Just as big servers like Mineplex, Hypixel, and the Hive are more popular than smaller servers, megachurches are more popular than the smaller, more traditional churches.

Minecraft servers and churches are having similar problems with big authority. Just as servers are having a problem with the EULA, churches are having a problem with the government telling them what to do.
Rolling your eyes at me? Get this. It's against the law for preachers to get political at the pulpit.

Here's an eerie coincidence. I go to a small church, and it's struggling a bit financially. There are plans to drastically cut our music minister's pay. If it passes with the congregation, our music minister could very well leave the church. This was announced around the same time chickenputty resigned.
Is the music minister and chickenputty similar in a way? Yes. The music minister does a lot for our church.
    Also,

You can't just compare two things that are mutually exclusive like this. It won't end well. Plus, why is this in general discussion? xD

I was honestly expecting people to find this fascinating. I was wrong. Apparently, when you talk about religion, people lose their crap.

This is true in most places. People who don't believe in a certain religion tend to try to make other people who do down on themselves. It's sad but it's true no matter what they say.

Well, what I have found is that the only people who lose their crap are the people who dont want to be different. This is actually an interesting comparison @Gehenna_Beam.
It is a general discussion. Where else could it go? Why should we not talk about things that matter? In fact, most of these people who are between the age of 10-19 are going to be more honest on here because they will be more likely to share their opinions while they remain anonymous. I find that online discussions and debates are extremely interesting, because they usually reflect real views. In a real debate in front of real people, most people conform to what the society they live in expect them to say.
In regard to this, there are many ways in which minecraft servers are related to churches. They each basically have their own culture. I think this is because of group think mentality, or conformist psychology.
Think about this. Say that you are friends with one of the nicest people in the world. Now say that he comes and plays warz and is in ts with the most toxic players of warz. If that person plays with them long enough, he will either become toxic, or he will be kicked out of the team. He is most likely to become toxic. It is seen as normal and is highly encouraged. This may seem horrible to some people, but it is true. I would know as I have played for several years.
Now say that this player goes to a minecraft party lobby where people are generally friendly. He starts being toxic and is immediately shunned from the party players and ignored. What is he most likely to do? He is either going to leave, or going to stop being toxic.
This is the same for most churches. If a Catholic walks into a Morman church and begins talking and contradicting their faith, they will kick them out or ignore them.

I will be adding more to this when I come home from school

you misunderstand. I meant why should this thread be in general discussion. it should be in off topic.
