Why doesn't Brawl downgrade the maximum number of players able to join?

Seriously. Right now the amount of active players on average/day is 1/10 compared to the maximum amount of players that can log onto Brawl. At this stage people are lucky to see over 1k players on at any given time, with the most in the weekends being normally at 400-500 in afternoon EST times (I am unaware of activity after 4+pm EST, so if it increase significantly I wouldn't mind knowing).

That being said, a lot of money seems to be wasted on having numerous empty slots. From what I understand when it comes to running servers, the more available slots you have the more money you have to pay to keep the server up and running. Seeing that Brawl is fortunate to even hit 1k in peak times, investing money on 3k slots seems a bit of a waste. If the amount of slots was reduced to, let's say, 1500, it would save money, maybe not a large amount but even so less expenses from Brawl's pocket. More money can be invested on particular gamemodes, heck the servers might even have enough money to revive HG again????

Now this thread could be a complete waste if somehow or another decreasing slots does not mean decreasing amount of money required to run the server.

A lot of hosts provide unlimited amounts of slots.

Brawl is hosted on ovh gameservers i think. They are basicly remote pcs which brawl can do whatever they want with. Adding more slots doesnt add any extra costs.

Brawl has also downgraded to less powerfull servers recently, so i think they have it under control.

Come play some ww. You will enjoy it.

Brawl does not host their server from a company like Exodus hosting or any dedicated company to hosting MC servers. They have their own separate host with space which allows them to operate. They can set their slots to whatever they want, the only thing that can limit them is the Amount of storage they have.

I believe OVH is the company that hosts Brawl.com
