Idea Revamping Raid

The trouble with the staff is that no one wants to be staff on a server that has such few amount of players. The staff process works as follows - They apply for JMOD for a specific server, if they get accepted they get JMOD just for that server as a trial before they get Global JMOD for all of Brawl, after that they can get promoted to MOD. This is the point where they can go in vanish and catch hackers etc. This is efficient on most servers, however on Raid the majority of hackers are people using x-ray. A fair majority of staff do not know how to identify a raid that was tracked, or x-rayed, mainly because they don't know how tracking works. The majority also don't know how to use the x-ray detection plugins like CoreProtect.

@0racle is the only staff member who is actually from Raid, and is one of a select few who actually know what they are doing when it comes to catching x-rayers. So you see that there are some problems with getting a committed staff team. The easiest thing to do would be to teach MODs how to use the plugins and how to detect if a raid was x-ray, but this takes time.

As for the revamp, 0rcale is working on a revamp for Raid that hopes to make it more like it once was in an effort to bring the player count back up. Only time will tell if this is successful but he has put a huge amount of work into this (including reading every single server idea that was posted ever and making a list).

 

As eil said, an update is planned already, which I do believe will restore the player count and help the player counts to be improved. Staff wise, I can't say anything for that. My activity will be increased as of today actually, so you will see me on more. For new staff, we do have high standards, which I do believe is very important. However I do think the new update will make current staff play more on raid as well.

I'm not complaining ;p I like actually tbh

 

It definitely has its perks. When you're alone you can work independently without having to worry about telling people anything. That changed when ryan came, but I love the help and things are more likely to get done with two people getting on someone's case.

 

A reset is a bad idea due to the fact that there is no dominant team, like the case on other servers. In addition, the map is reasonably clean as it was reset less than four months ago. I feel like the recurring issue is the lack of knowledge of the limited plugins Raid has to offer, like tracking. Xrayers are a problem, yes, but they are easily dealt with and a base rollback doesn't take much time at all.

 

Anyone is able to pm me if they have questions on how to check for it. I'd be more than happy to walk people through it.

But I agree about the vanilla feel being a little boring at times. I do feel there are enough new features that should provide a decent balance.

A reset would help in my opinion. Its a fresh start for a new ish server in my mind.

 

There are 2 dominant teams at the moment: Meta and Apex.
This sucks because any other team is going to get ganged by people with 20 million sets of Prot IV armor, and that makes people leave xD
