Currently sheriffs ONLY get money from inspecting someone who has illegals, or picking up illegal items.

    7g per drug
    1200g per illegal gun

    Arresting/killing a rogue who has no illegals - 0g
    Arresting a robber - 0g

I think the above 2 need to be given some money because currently its quite hard for sheriffs to make money, especially since Kevlar is 20k. Maybe 1.5k for a robber (basically confiscating the money they would have gotten from the rob), and 1k for killing/arresting a rogue.

As a sheriff, I was able to make around 300k a month, which is definitely enough to be able to withstand a small 40k house, and be able to buy a few sets of kevlar every now and then. You can also mine for ores if you want to make money but there are no bandits online.

And Eil, let me remind you that kevlar is a privilege that bandits do not get. The standard sheriff armor is equivalent to bandit's diamond armor. The price I think is very fair for the protection it yields.

Don't recommend Kelvar since it's only one use (if you're poor) Also I agree with you with the arresting. Sometimes I chase a rogue for 5 minutes and then it pays off for nothing because they didn't have any illegals. I'm trying to save up for a speedy but god knows when that is going to happen.

I think that the ability to sell diamond armor would also be a good addition. The bandits don't really seem interested in buying back their armor and it's useless to sheriffs.

Being rich is too mainstream. I'd like a pay for rogue chasing tho, but I don't see this too important. I really like the idea of selling diamonds as random said.

We could bump up drug payout a bit. Maybe to 10g. Illegal guns use to be 3,500g, but considering the prices were lowered, so were the payout to sheriffs.

Isn't 10 million enough? Especially since you have a "Eula friendly" pay2win rank that lets you get 4* as many ores? Getting greedy?

I made well over 150k as a sheriff within a week. The economy is, if anything, already in favor of sheriffs. As for spare diamond armor, host drop parties or give them back to their original owners :v

This. As a sheriff I collected so many sets of diamond and I gave away every single set. I sold none of them. During my time as sheriff I easily gave away over 2.5 million gold worth of stuff in total.

The other reason I am suggesting this is that, why go after a rogue, why catch a robber - We get nothing from it? (I know its our job, and we do it anyway, but thats beside the point) - There is no incentive to catch rogues and robbers.

Can we get back on topic please. This discussion is not about my bank balance. Its about sheriffs, not just me.

Sheriff pay needs a relatively big change, since the ways they do make money is rather OP, but sometimes they don't make any money for performing an action. Here's what should be done imo:
    • 4g per drug
    • 1000g per illegal gun
    • 1000g for arresting/killing a rogue
    • 500g for arresting someone who robbed the conductor recently
Sheriffs should also be able to sell diamond armour. The "base" price would be 2500g for each piece, but you'd not make as much money for selling diamond armour which has lost durability. If you sold a diamond armour piece which has 80% durability, you'd only make 2000g (80% of the base price).

This seems like a good compromise. I do feel drugs should be 5-6g, 4 seems a little low (nearly 1/2), and maybe 1000g for the arresting a robber, 500g is a little low in my opinion. Other than that I think this is a very good compromise.

A question that goes along with this - Would sheriffs be able to 'take' diamond armour off people they arrest, not just kill?

4g seems fine to me, considering how much you can make as a sheriff. Even when sheriffs were insanely underpowered and I used a carcano instead of the sheriff rifle, I still made 1.5 million over the course of about a month, without spending a huge amount of time on the game. Especially as more ways of making money for sheriffs would be introduced, 4g would be a good amount in my opinion.

1000g for arresting a robber, compared to 1000g for arresting a rogue/killing a rogue who'd probably fight back? Since robbers rarely do anything to make arresting them a challenge (well, sometimes they'll hide in the station or run as soon as they can, but it hardly makes it tricky), sheriffs shouldn't get a too much money for arresting them.

And yes, they would be able to. When you arrest someone, there should be a dead body that only sheriffs can open so you can take their meds/whiskey/morphine, too.

You can make 50k in 10 minutes. When @AnonymousGalaxy stormed into the base when like 4 people were AFK. It's all about timing. I kinda agree that you need a little money for a rogue. Maybe every person the rogue has killed in that life =500g

Yes, you can make 50k in 10 minutes, you can also make 1k in 2 hours. Also I like the sort of ladder rogue thing, quite interesting, also the more people they have killed, the more chance they will give the sheriff a better fight meaning they have to work for it more meaning they deserve the extra reward at the end.

Eil, you didn't seem too interested in how much sheriffs got until you received sheriff yourself?

I think this is more about you maintained top bank rather than making Wild West more fair for everyone.

When I was sheriff I got around 2 gold per drug, and about 150 (Maybe 200? Can't remember.) for illegal guns.

This is about maintaining top bank, not for the betterment of sheriffs. After all, is it a coincidence that you posted this after getting the rank? No, I think not. Just another selfish thread with ideas that benefit you and you alone. Most sheriffs give out their loot, if they wanted to make money they would have sold it.

I disagree. And, who does not want more money in his bank? Anyways it's kinda the point of the game.
It's hard to make an idea of how hard/easy is to get money as sheriff is you're not one.

I like the idea of SoCool21. And I can understand if someone (sheriff) feels like he does not receive enough for performing some actions, but I don't care too much (just for me).

It's kinda half and half. He may be wanting to maintain the highest money on ww. There's no problem him suggesting this once he got sheriff, he just wants to make more money.
