Sometimes Sheriffs want to mine, however people will always think the sheriff is on duty.. so I'm thinking if there can be a command for like /offduty for sheriffs. This can be only used 2 times a day and the off duty lasts as long as you want. - You cannot handcuff/inspect/shoot/hunt rogues or go on searches in rebel bases. If a sheriff is caught off duty in a rebel base or in a field they can get reported (with proof). (It's simple).
Reply if you have any other tweaks on this and I'll add it on this thread. It will also be cool if you could have [OFF-DUTY] on their name tag so people can see it clearly.

This idea has been suggested multiple times already, and I haven't been persuaded into thinking that it's necessary. The moment a sheriff dies, every present sheriff will immediately switch their tag to "on duty", making this tag absolutely pointless.

What about having a 1-2 hour cool down before you can use it again?

Then it kind of defeats the purpose.

Cool idea, but maybe not the best for current WildWest.

Then you can't backup your sheriff mate if he's getting 6v1ed.

I do like the idea, but like already said, it wouldn't change much. A sheriff could say that he/she's off-duty, and then once a bandit does something illegal, they switch to on-duty to try to catch said bandit.

This idea could be tweaked, maybe so a sheriff does /offduty [time] to set an amount of time that they are choosing to be off-duty. During this time, their cuffs, inspector, ticket, guns, and sheriff armor are stripped from them. Once the time is up, the gear is reinstated. To check how long a sheriff is off-duty, you can /profile them.
^This tweak idea is not very conventional, but it is really the only way I see of giving this idea a use.

I agree with the time. And when other sheriffs arw getting 1v6 it's the sheriff who went off duty's fault. You should go off duty when it's peaceful, and not that much crimes are being made. I would say (if this gets added) that a reasonable time for off duty is 30 mins.

I think the "on-duty" "off-duty" tag would be useful for bandits and extremely helpful for beginners. Though, I don't think there should be a cool down. If we trust Sheriffs with cuffs we can trust them with a tag.

True. If they abuse it they can get warned - or demoted if they do it loads of times.
