Brawl Junior Moderator Application​

I have read this thread multiple times and believe I fit the requirements needed and have the potential to become a successful Brawl staff member.

What is your in-game name? - My current IGN is Eil, and my name history can be found here - I have no intention of changing my name.

Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated? - Yes, I have done all procedures necessary to make sure my account is secure and that no one but me can gain access, both on forums, and ingame.

How old are you? - 17

What time zone are you in? - GMT (UTC+0)

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - My first language is English which I am fluent in, however I do know some basic Spanish.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? - Upon purchasing a Minecraft account, Brawl was the first server I joined after discovering War while on Planet Minecraft if I remember correctly. After playing War for around 2 months I saw in chat to do /hub - whether this was an AutoBroadcast message or a player I do not recall but I soon discovered that Brawl was not just a COD server, and that there was a host of other servers on offer. I was attracted to Survival PvP from the hub, and it’s had me hooked ever since. My knowledge of Minecraft was next to nothing, but as I played I learned vast amounts; not only about Survival PvP, but about Minecraft, it’s mechanics, all the tricks and interesting things that could be achieved. I learned how to track, and how to avoid getting tracked, with each day posing something new. I think what made it so attractable, over other games was its simplicity, yet its openness. There was/is always something to do, whether it's build a new base, work on a new redstone contraption, build a tracker, track a base, raid - never ending possibilities. During my years on Survival PvP, I made a great many friends, many of which I have sadly watch leave Brawl as time has gone by, with only a few originals remaining. When Raid came out, despite the drop in players, I have stuck with it, helping by reporting bugs and building things for it on the Build Server. I hope to one day see Raid grow back into a thriving server, something I would like to be a part of and help with - One of the reasons I would like to become staff.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - I won’t pretend I have any moderating experience because I don’t. While I lack in this area, I do have a lot of experience with moderating chat through the use of /chatreport, and frequently contact staff, or use /report when I see a rule breaker. So while I don’t have any prior experience of moderating I would love Brawl to be my first, and has been something I have always aspired to do.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? - I have always loved helping people, whether it's a simple comment in chat, or spending 2 hours teaching someone how to track or to do redstone. I find it quite rewarding to know that you've made someone happier playing Brawl by giving them a helping hand. My original application was for Wild West, however since I made it, I have had a change of heart. Survival PvP was really what made Brawl what it is for me, with those two months on War being a stepping stone in my eyes. SPvP was where it began and it’s the server where I made some great friends, and some great memories, both of which remain with me. Aside from the personal aspect, I feel Raid is a bit under staffed and until recently only had 0racle as a staff member. I would like, if given the chance, to join 0racle (and AnonymousGalaxy) in helping to make Raid better.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - No, I have never used a hacked client before, and never intend to. While some people say using them in single player to see what they do is good for identifying them, I didn’t want to go down that road - I learned about all the different hacks through experiencing them in-game or YouTube.

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why? - I had 1 mute on Brawl for flame where I said a sheriff on Wild West was breaking the rules. It was a long time ago and I release my mistake, and that I should simply have reported it, rather than cause unnecessary flame in chat. Since my last application, 0racle had this mute removed from my history having viewed it false. Other than that, I have had no other punishments.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - A mix of two things here: dedication and experience. I started Survival PvP when it had just opened (I didn't know this at the time I joined but learned it soon after) and as I said above, have been playing it ever since. My knowledge of the gamemode, its history, the plugins, is matched by only a select few. I have never lost hope in Survival PvP, despite its ups and downs over the years, and have stuck with it. This knowledge and experience I have gained over these years will help me to help others as I have been through the same situations as them.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - I would consider this to be my passion. Sometimes I get very defensive over things I am passionate about. When a change is proposed that I didn't like, or I thought wouldn't be good I would have I said, I become defensive and sometimes a bit flame-y. Sometimes I would jump to fast to a conclusion about something without knowing the full facts because, at point blank, I thought something might happen that would be disastrous because I got a little over passionate without taking a step back. I use the past tense here because these are problems I have been working on in the past months, making sure that I view both sides of a suggestion, both sides of a situation, before jumping in with a response, and that my response is considerate, and isn’t going to cause flame. In my last application some staff commented that this was indeed a problem of mine, and I hope I have shown that I have fixed this and are no longer an issue.

Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on? - Aside from WarZ, I play a bit of all Brawl servers, however I mainly play Raid and WildWest (As Sheriff). Behind that is probably Build and KitBrawl where I practice my PvP, and work on projects for Raid (Event arenas, Christmas Spawn + more).

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - I have made 1 other application for JMOD for the server Wild West.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? - My last application was submitted on November 22, 2016.

Do you have TeamSpeak? - Yes, I do have TS and try to be on it everyday.

Anything else you would like to state? - Thank you for taking the time to read my application.

 

I try when reporting to only report when I see something that breaks the rules, however sometimes it isn't included all in the 30 lines so that could be one of the main reasons for this. I noticed a while back that there were a few reports that I had done in error and have since worked on this and looking at my reports I don't believe it is an issue anymore.

These experiences are far in the past, and since I identified they were issues I have worked on fixing them and now believe that they are no longer a problem.

I believe this may have been a misunderstanding as I cannot recollect this event, nor find any evidence of it in my chat logs. There were times in the far past that I did hackusate once or twice in chat, however in past months I have worked on not doing this and instead try to collect evidence and report them, use the /report function, or contact a staff member from my friends list.

Both you and I share different opinions on the fairness of certain aspects of Wild West, and I think that our difference of opinions in that discussion should not seem like an argument. I was under the impression that we were simply having a chat (in private message) to discuss how to make Wild West more fair & fun. If it came across as an argument, I apologise, as this was not in any way my intention with the conversation.
