    Obviously this can be used at the discretion of the member of staff dealing with the situation in real time - If the comment has little intent then obviously a member of staff should be able to understand that and act accordingly.

    The thing is, the staff have continually proved that they cannot distinguish between an actual theat and a non-serious one.

    Well that is something that needs to be addressed during the period a member of staff undergoes as a Junior moderator

    The point is that we are punishing for threatening to kill someone (in real life), not for actually killing someone. We are well aware that the chance of such a threat being carried out is minimal, but it is still a behaviour we will not tolerate.

    We punish for both serious and "jokingly made" threats - they aren't acceptable in either situation.

    The staff members will from now on use the warning system. The punishments of the warnings have been added to the Server Rules thread.
