    The whole time that you are sheriff, you have the option to never spend money. While this being unlikely, it still can happen. You get a horse, your guns, armour, your tools and the basic bandit stuff (daggers, few meds etc.) all for free. While bandits have to spend money on everything.

    For the record, when I was sheriff, I didn't buy anything other than horses. Maybe kevlar once or twice over the course of a few months, but that's it really.
