Why can't Brawl support 1.7?

you know what.. keep it at 1.8 until we can resolve this.
If 1.7 is not an option, we will go with what we have right now.

 

@chickenputty Im so done with Brawl, FIRST, you guys can't even follow Eula, SECOND, you make excuses of why Brawl can't be 1.7 THIRD, Instead of solving the problem you argue, FORTH, All of the famous pvp servers are 1.7/1.8 compatible how come you can't do it? FIFTH you guys can't even fix the f*cking sponges SIXTH you always say "#Soon" Thats funny, because the last time you said that NOTHING HAPPENED

Yes legit, ik the lag-fest is annoying. Btw can u guys come to my sausage-fest. its worth coming 4 believe me. and btw i keep getting banned from brawl like 3 times this week now. REMOVE the damn brawlbot plz. And fix the ugly lag.

One thing you could try is having donation goals like on MCPVP. If you don't know what these are, it's where when someone donates they can choose what their money goes towards. So say backwards compatability with 1.7 would cost 5,000 USD, you would have an option when people buy anything from the shop to put their money toward that donation goal. If that goal ended up getting $5,000, therefore being fully funded, developers would be hired/paid to work on making backwards compatibility. Along with this, there could be other goals too such as new CTF kits, gamemode development/updates, etc.

All this being said, I do not think this would be a good idea until Brawl is fully EULA compliant, and able to stay alive through the struggle that is the EULA.

 

Honestly the difference between 1.8 in 1.7 is very minimal. Unless you rely too much on blockpvp, it really doesn't affect you that much except for a few blocking animations, so as far as that goes I'm fine with the servers going EULA compliant first

Also, note the fact that 1.8 is on par with or beating every other version as of this week.

1.8 is probably the best option as of now, I don't see Brawl downgrading any time soon. The only thing holding Brawl back from updating to newer versions is no one really likes the PvP mechanics imo.

 

How did this get unlocked?

For pvp based servers 1.7 is more popular and better, for the rest of the servers it doesn't really matter what version they are on apart from 1.9 completely ruining combat for semi pvp based game modes.

Raid will never reach its full potential if it isn't in 1.7
There is a reason why successful pvp servers are 1.7(it is what the community want)

 

It's not that we don't listen to the community, it's that as stated in this thread it simply cannot happen anytime soon. 1.8 is the best we could do to keep the community happy.
