    Brawl Junior Moderator Application
Hello and thanks for reading my staff application. It would be great if you could send me a private message or post something on my profile keeping me informed of your opinions on me and my application in order to improve and become a better applicant in the future.
Note : I have also been allowed to recycle informations from the last application I have submitted.

    Read over this thread: https://www.brawl.com/threads/14752/
If you do not meet the requirements (active, helpful, must have TeamSpeak, etc) do not apply yet; it will be an auto deny.

What is your in-game name? -
My current in-game name is Algelier.

Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated? -
Firstly, my main account is totally secured because no one is able to access to this latter as no one is acquainted with its password, as is my alt account as well. Secondly, owing to the screenshot below, both of my accounts were migrated to Mojang a long time ago.

    How old are you? -
I am 15 years of age, turning 16 on the 10th February 2017.

What time zone are you in? -
    I am in:
    Current: CET (Central European Time)
Next Change: CEST (Central European Summer Time)
    Current Offset: UTC/GMT +1 hour

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? -
I am able to speak fluently or not three languages such as :

French: I speak French since I’ve pronounced the first word of my life. French is my native language, as a consequence of this, I am able to speak French everywhere, and I often speak French around Brawl either with some foreign players or through some translated guides.

English: I have been learning English for 11 years. So that is why I am not able to speak English fluently as I can speak French fluently. I do quite well in English. Brawl is a really good help for my English… It is really a chance for me to have found this community. About my English around Brawl, I think I have improved my English a lot and greatly since I first joined, once again, sometimes I make a lot of mistakes, but you correct my sentence, therefore I will not mistake twice.

German: German has been in my languages choice when I went to secondary school. I have been learning it for 5 years and I am not able to speak German as I can speak English… The fundamental bases of this language were learned a long time ago. I am not able to begin a serious conversation with a German, but I am able to understand only basic informations, such as his/her name, age, job…

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? -
Everything begun when I was only a child who was only 11 years of age. In the days when I was only playing alone, I told myself wether joining a Minecraft community would be great or not. By watching the very old Mc-Warfare trailer I was sure this server should be a great experience for me and to improve my English as a foreign. Also like everyone, I started playing this server without knowing that there was a very large community. I first joined this server (also Brawl) in September 2013. I kept playing War until mid-August 2013 because my dad and my sister were playing a French game called Dofus and I wanted to join them and play with them. Therefore I stopped playing War and even Minecraft. I had a lot of fun times with my family and the friends I met there. Kill creatures, monsters and other players, sell items for in-game money, succeed in beating bosses at the end of dungeons, travel around regions, these facts was here to please us. But these moments stopped when developers released 2.0, I lose my friends who had the same thoughts as ours - stop playing is best the way.

1 year after (September 2014), I missed Minecraft, my friends too, consequently, I restarted McBrawl or rather War. A lot of updates and modifications were unknown for me. I made many new friends with whom I keep having great times. But one thing changed everything - I discovered the real face of a Minecraft community - I discovered the forums. As many new members on the forums, I didn't post my application as soon as I knew that you could make one. I waited just a bit before making mine. I posted my first staff application in October 2014 but I couldn't be accepted, I was active in-game, but Teamspeak and the forums were two things I really had to work on. Obviously my English and my maturity as well. Then I got denied but I didn't give up, I really wanted to become a "Jmod", that's why I started to be active on the forums but in a wrong way, I was only replying by saying "Good luck with your team", "Good job" etc. I was not helpful, and I learnt this thought the replies on my second application. This latter was really odd. I copied and pasted texts translated by Pons (same as Google Translate). Also like the first one - got denied.

I started to play FpsHG with the intention of becoming "Jmod" on this server. I enjoyed playing on FpsHG but now this server doesn't exist anymore - but I save this for later. Improving my English was one of my best priority and I really had to work on. Speaking to other players on TS and posting messages / creating threads were good exercises for me and they still are but less helpful. My third application were posted and once again the problems were my English and my TS activity. My TeamSpeak, forums and in-game activities were fine, my English was still the problem. Practicing makes perfect, that's why I kept practicing my English in a good way. I kept doing what I said aforementioned. That is why I posted an other application a long time ago by thinking I could get accepted due to my outstanding efforts (in my opinion). Then one of my best friends responded to my application by saying that I couldn't get accepted. I was so sad and shaken up. I did everything I could to get accepted but this was not enough.

Then I made my outro but I did not really know what I was doing, given that I came back three days after posting it. I really did not want to lose my friends and the great times I've had with them. As written in every paragraph, I kept improving my English and this is why I did one of the best application I've never done before. Then happened something unexpected - I got accepted into the next stage and I had to schedule my interview on TeamSpeak. I did so, they asked me questions - I answered them, and at the end of this, something bad happened. I really do not want to look back on this interview... Sorry.

One month after, an other application came out and I got accepted one week later (not the best). Scheduling my interview was something easy for me because I had already done one also I got finally accepted. Now it was the time for Trial Stage. But one problem - SG and SGG were both down, also I asked if it was possible to be promoted on an other server. I had two choices - CTF or War, and given that I left War, I chose CTF, but things didn't turn out as expected:
"A player asked me if I was a mod on CTF, I spelled out that yes and why I was a CTF Jmod. But, lots of players expressed themselves and they started to say that I had no knowledge with CTF and how it is running. Consequently I explained to them heretofore mentioned. But obviously they didn't give up. They carried on criticizing me and they started to do some unreasonable inanities. Because of this, I warned them more than 1 times to put the problems back to rights. Unfortunately, they didn't accept this way and they strayed from the straight and narrow, also needless to say that I muted them for Staff Disrespect. Now the problem is that they couldn't accept that, also they reported me on Slack for Abuse Of Power before I had the change to draw breath." This was a long time ago, therefore I had to become a Jmod on an other server because of that. So that was War.

One month later, I checked Slack and I saw lots of promotions, I looked if there was my name, and indeed it was. I was promoted to Global Jmod after a month of trial. Afterwards, I was used to moderating any server, as long as things turned out as expected. One day, we had to take a hacking test in order to promote us (or not) to Moderator. Unfortunately, I have failed it but that was as some hacked clients were still unknown for me. During this time, too many staff members were focussed on War so I was promoted to KitBrawl given that I was more active on this one. Consequently, I was able to improve my skills in banning hackers, and I was more than ready for a second hacking test.

The second one was around October, and given that I was a Jmod on KitBrawl and as you might know, there are a lot of hackers (well while I was still Mod), so I passed it with 19.5/20. That's why I got promoted to Moderator a month after Global Jmod.

A month after, I still do not know why I did that because school and sports remained the same so I was able to manage everything, I made a resignation:

Unfortunately, I lost my motivation, I didn't enjoy the servers any more because of being promoted to Mod. I always did the same thing:

    • Connect
    • /poof
    • /tp
    • Catch
    • Ban
It wears you out, when I was a normal player, I enjoyed so much the servers with a lot of good friends, but I lost them after being promoted.

School is a big fact that I needed to manage besides the sport trainings that have been more and more intensive. Indeed, I'm on the last year of my junior high school, and in order to continue my studies, I need to be a successful candidate with the high-school I choose. Moreover, I have to pass the brevet at the end of the year, if I don't succeed, I will probably not have a good school to study in. Besides the brevet, I've got two mock exams in January and in May, and I don't want to repeat myself about what I ought to do.

I talked about sport trainings as well above, and this fact deals with my real life like crazy. I practice sport five times a week, so this is around 20 hours of training per week. Those facts make me tired and busy regarding Brawl to the point of stopping going on Brawl and wanting to ditch everything concerning Brawl.

Then I left Brawl with the intention of never coming back. But I noticed how wonderful is this community. So that's why I came back a month ago, with a view to become a staff member again. I still have to work a little on my activity due to my previous inactivity on every brawl platforms.

There followed a period of departures and returns as I was really skeptical wether I should have stayed on Brawl or not. Moreover, I had lots of problems in my life that I don’t want get back on.

However, Brawl has been for me the community in which I’ve had the funniest moments of my gaming experience - therefore I always return to this latter. Nonetheless, this time, I think I won’t leave any time soon.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -
I have seasoned with moderating servers, firstly because of my past rank as a moderator on Brawl, but as well as a few other servers on which I’ve worked for either as a moderator or as a redactor (a rank which is a part of the staff team).

    >MCServer: This is the french server in which I have been a moderator on. This is a KitPVP server. I have been a moderator on this server a long time ago and I have made an « outro » because I have found Brawl and I found it better than this server…

    >LBSIserver: A French server for our school created by a friend and I, it was a Survival Games server where we have both been admins, but one day, a player has sent an anonymous report to my friend and the report was against me, about the fact that I have done a very big troll to an other player. Of course, it was a fake, but my friend didn’t want to trust me, I was demoted and I made my « outro » too. The server does not exist anymore and I do not think it will re-open again.

    >DevTeam: A server created by Profbonkars about the DevTeam, on this server, we have worked about something new for War and WarZ. I have been a moderator but it does not really matter because we have all been mods on this server (I think), but now Bonkars stopped the DevTeam as well as Brawl.

    >Cod-Warfare: After Daniel and Tea have left Brawl, I have talked to Tea and he told me that Daniel was going to create a Mc-Warfare server for French players, this server will be a bit different as War. I have been a moderator on this server for 3 weeks, however I left it due to my inactivity on this latter.

    >ByMineJoy: I used to play on the biggest French Minecraft community after leaving Brawl. There was a special section where people could write a résumé for other servers which were looking for staff. They contacted me due to my previous experiences with moderating servers. I had to schedule an interview and I got accepted. I have been staff for two months, however I left this server when I came back to Brawl.

    >Brawl: I have been a Junior Moderator at first during 2 months and a Global Moderator for 3 months. According to my friends and the staff members among which I was moderating, I did a great job as a staff member and I am willing to start everything over. Here is a screenshot of the Brawl servers I have been a Moderator on:

    >HeartGames: Sadly, this server isn’t operational anymore due to hosting issues and the owner of this server bawled the administrators out and he decided to shutdown everything. I’ve been staff on this server for a month before its closure.

    >CreateYourDestiny: I have been a french redactor on this server and my duty was to write announcements or important threads that staff didn’t really have time to write. I was therefore part of the staff team and I really enjoyed my duty there.

I have stopped everything due to my bad beginning at school, but now it’s a lot better and I can now devote more time to my hobbies, such as coding and playing on Brawl.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? -
I really want to become a moderator on Brawl as I want to provide my activity and my helpfulness for the server I am focussed on. I will therefore give everybody a simple pleasure of playing together and of course I will not stop helping lots of players when they are in need of help. Moreover, this is the SMod’s task but I will be close the community and notice what they really want in order to make a server better with new features, and then I will present them to a higher staff member. I believe players are what makes a community , as staff members are a part of those players, so everyone should be close to players or other users.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -
Yes I have, but I was allowed to, as the staff members might read in the « Junior Moderator + » section on the forums, I have made a guide where I explain all of the hacked clients that a staff member can be confronted with and how they work. But apart from that I have never used a hacked client since I started Minecraft and since I started a game though! I really do not want to use it, because one could have some problems in the future if one is using a hacked client, and instead of playing with a hacked client, one must exploit the work of the game.

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why? -
Legitimately, no. That catches up with the previous question, given that I have never used a hacked client before, I do not know why I should have been banned on a Minecraft Server. But the types of bans are varied, but once again, I have never been banned on a Minecraft server. As you can notice in my personal ban history, I have already been banned by the BrawlBot when I was still a Moderator. However it was mistake and I have been unbanned just after (just to keep everyone informed). Moreover, some of them were jokes or tests. I have also recently been banned a few times by BrawlBot for hacking, but all of them were mistakes, but I was too busy to write a ban-appeal and I could have waited 12 hours before playing again on Brawl.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
I think that my greatest strength is the fluency and the ability to help a person by daring towards him/her. This is one of my best strength. I love helping people as I hate when a person is in a bad way, that is why I do everything I can to resolve his/her problem and help this person. I am no more shy as before because I have learned how to move forwards and to forge ahead, and, more than everything, to overcome my shyness and my fear to talk with people who may not understand me when I try to express myself. Therefore, I always help someone when he/she is in need of it.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
As you might know, the reason why I got denied is that I copyrighted things from other websites without stating where I got the information from. I do not want to bury my head in the sand, I totally accept that I have made a mistake by claiming the idea I shared as my own which I removed when I got called out. But the main reason is that I only want to help others, regardless of where the information comes from, as soon as it can help others or share things I like but which are not mine. I forged ahead and I didn’t let this issue happen again, as I always state where I got this. But in my eyes this is a weakness. I am working on this, I honestly do.

Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on? -
I am definitely the most active on War. Consequently I am applying for this server.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? -
Well, this answer may produce a strange reaction, you will be calling me a « tryhard » as I’ve made so much application, and I totally understand that. But keep in mind that I am willing to become a staff member on Brawl again, not for the « benefits » that this rank provides, far from it. I just think that I have the relevant qualification (in terms of activity/maturity/helpfulness etc.) in order to get promoted. Moreover, I still do not know why I have made all of those application, especially the first ones, as I knew deeply that I could never get accepted due to my disastrous English, as well as my activity and above all my maturity. Well, let’s answer the question before going off-topic, I’ve made more than 8 applications in the past.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? -
The of the last application I submitted was on the 28th of June 2016.

    Do you have TeamSpeak?
Yes I do, and I am named as Algelier.

Anything else you would like to state? -
The first part of this answer is directly aimed at Cuddled:

I am truly sorry if I have overdone the fact that I really wanted you to tell me which issues occurred while I was a moderator in order to become a better applicant in the future. But honestly I cannot sort rectify my mistakes as these latter took place a long time ago and erring is human, but I’m plenty sure that I won’t make the same mistakes twice. Furthermore, I have also criticized the staff team as well as your job, but I was really upset towards you because of what I said above, but now I realize that I simply needed to wait longer until you were able to trust that I wasn’t going to mistake like I did before.

So I’m sorry about that, truly.

Secondly, I was wondering if either I would apply for the position of Developer or Moderator, my choice was pretty simple, whence this application, as I really need to get a better knowledge in Java and the Bukkit API before coding for a whole community.

Furthermore, I truly realize that my teamspeak activity is not the best but I try to do everything I can to get on and be active, as well as helping players there. I'm mostly active in-game and on the forums. Honestly I'm willing to help Brawl like I did before and be as active as I used to be.

    Thanks for reading my application!

If your application is accepted, you will move on to an interview on TeamSpeak.

One of the easiest +1's im ever going to give. Helpful, active, mature and you have experience within moderating brawl, and everything about war. Your application is outstanding, and I don't expect anything else from you. There is a lack of EU war mods and you will fix this problem. It would be a dream to work along side you, Best Of Luck.
