Increase player render distance

    Not sure why its so small, but in a server with ranged PvP, barely being able to see players the other side of the rebel base is a fairly big issue. I don't see how it can cause that much lag, but I might be wrong. Either way, its really bad needing to be so close to someone to see them.

    I made a thread about this a while ago - The server was originally quite laggy so that could have contributed to the reasons behind why it was/is so low, but I see no reason why not to increase it now - It would add a lot more value to rifles, and sniping.

    We've been told multiple times that there is no way to increase it without lagging the server.

    I don't remember being told this. Also, it could be trialled to see if it does cause much lag.

    It was before you were staff. I remember the conversation too actually. I think it was mario that said it.

    Really support this idea if it can be done, would not mind a trial period of time to test lag if necessary though.

    Edit: What is the current player render distance?

    39 blocks. And it was already proven during open beta that the extended render distance caused extreme server lag.
    Already proven during beta that it lagged. And, knowing Brawl, they're totally focused on things separate from Wild West. It isn't on their priority list.

    The lag issues in Beta + After were caused by a chunk unloading glitch, where chunks would load, then not unload (slowly filling up the servers RAM) - This isn't an issue anymore.

    I don't know if it would cause extreme extra lag though, but there were other lag issues before that could have impacted on the results, and may not have been whole due to the increased player render distance.

    Also you say increased ender distance causes extreme lag - Chunk or Player? (I don't know if you may be getting them confused).

    It would radically change the current way of fighting. You could no longer sneak into a base. Towercamping would be even more useless than now (seen as a way to deal with outnumbering teams). I dont thibk there would be any positive effects. -1.

    Don't agree with this really, I don't see how it would affect tower camping too heavily. sneaking into bases maybe just cause you can see them from farther away but besides that I don't see how it's an issue... when camping bases people are usually inside the proccessing room and processing not just standing on the walls waiting for people to show up in their render. and when people do sneak in they usually.... I don't know sneak lol not just straight run in, so I don't see how player render really affects "no longer sneaking into a base". but back to tower camping, being able to see your target on top of the tower from farther is better in my opinion cause you can only really see players from the top at the base of the tower. any more blocks away and you're out of render so it's a pointless fight unless you rush ladder, which in that case you might as well stick your sawed in your own mouth and pull the trigger

    There's already a big enough issue with camping in the game. Seems as if before my team starts a cuffer war, the first thing we do is decide where we camp. As its harder to sneak into a base, it also means its easier for new players to run away from sheriffs, and harder for sheriffs to sneak in and rely on cuffs.

    It wouldnt be easier to run away from sheriffs.. Sheriffs have horses when they are outside, not when they are insinde..

    also, it would make outnumbering a even more terrible issue. Wouldnt like that

    Camping is a tactic. Make player render distance 80. Lag is fixed now and if it isn't just switch it back to 39. I mean it's literally 1 number in the coding.
