Reduce reboots

    Sup, so I've been getting really active on Wild West due to my promotion, and I've been having a lot of fun.

    But, I've noticed, that when a reboot happens, it drastically changes the amount of players, there was 30 players on today, and a reboot happened and then 30 minutes after that there was 15.

    I feel like new players think reboots are something like the server going down or something long term

    It kills the amount of players. I know, it was perfectly fine when Wild West was buggy, but it's not so buggy anymore. So I say we should reduce the amount of reboots.

    This is true, and It removes the rouge mark so if sheriffs are fighting, the bandits get to shoot first again... :shifty:

    It could also be that the players know it only takes a couple minutes, but are too impatient to wait for the game to come back up, so they go play something else.
    Virtually, everything resets after a reboot.

    I love reboots. They help when being hunted as a rogue or near sheriffs.

    Reboots have some ups and downs... it's + for bandits and - for sheriffs.

    Maybe you can tell the noobs that the reboot isn't long-term? lol

    Maybe we can modify the notification like 'Reboot in 1 minute, it wont take more than 2 minutes to restart' or something related.

    Ye, maybe add a warning for players. Maybe instead (if possible) make reboots shorter instead of less.

    A reboot just happened, it completely kills the player-base. Please fix it @randomcitizen1

    A server running at 100% gamespeed will generally run at 20 ticks. Depending on the amount of data the server provider recieves, the respective tick speed of gamemodes will steadily drop due to the servers resources being overwhelemed. Reboots help restore the 20 ticks and eliminate any delay in gamespeed.

    My main point is that reboots serve great importance when it comes to a fluid game experience. Removing or making them less common would not be in the interest of the server.

    Then make it like 2 mins till reboot (will take 1 minute to restart!) @UnknownPleasures

    We can't simply "lower" the amount of time for a reboot, if that's what your asking. Sorry, but your post is really confusing me :n

    Reboots should happen as infrequently as possible without causing the server to lag, but I'm not certain if the server can go much longer without a reboot than it already does.

    An alternative solution would be sending a player a message when Wild West is back up. Right now, it seems as if new players wait for a minute or so and, as reboots tend to take longer than this, they join a different gamemode. If a player gets kicked out the server because of a reboot, they should get a message telling them the server is up once the reboot is over.
