    Brawl Junior Moderator Application

    Read over this thread: https://www.brawl.com/threads/14752/
If you do not meet the requirements (active, helpful, must have TeamSpeak, etc) do not apply yet; it will be an auto deny.

What is your in-game name? -
My current in game name is xPurest. The full history can be seen here.

Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated?
    -
Yes, my minecraft account is secured and migrated.

    How old are you? -
I am currently 16 years young.

What time zone are you in? -
    Arizona (Mountain Standard Time)

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? -
Yes, I am fluent in English and am also partially proficient in Spanish. Because I understand almost all of the Spanish language I can easily pick up some words in Portuguese and Italian because of their similar dialect.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? -
I have been playing on Brawl/MCPVP since the middle of 2012. The first game mode I played with was CTF, I played for countless hours and was very addicted for well over a year. During that time period I spent around 15 dollars on every available class at that time. This gave me a different prospective on the game and it opened up a new pathway for my CTF future! After I purchased the classes I went on vacation and was offline for well over two weeks. During this time alot had changed....When I got back home and logged back onto my computer, mcpvp was offline and I could not access the server. I remember becoming inactive from minecraft for a month or two following that event. After my inactivity I logged back onto my computer and noticed a server that I did not remember adding, its name was brawl. I logged onto the server and noticed many new game modes and CTF. Naturally I logged back onto CTF and was greeted by many of the same players and my purchased classes. I was addicted once again. During one of my games there was announcement that offered a beta testing for a new game mode called Wild West.
After I joining the new server I looked around and explored the new world, little did I know I would put over 36 days of playing time onto the server. Soon after Wild West went public there was a sale on all life time ranks due to the EULA coming to effect very soon. I decided to buy lifetime VIP and have been very happy with my decision of purchasing it. After EULA happened and I logged on with my lifetime rank I was curious about what other perks I had on other game modes. After exploring I alternated playing Wild West and Minecraft Party. I mainly played Wild West up until about 4 months ago. After my 35 days of playing time, Wild West no longer enticed me to play. I alternated from Kit PVP, CTF, and Minecraft Party for about a week and fell in love with party as a result of my open mindedness. I was greeted by lots of players, but no staff, or lifetime ranks... Despite that I still played my little heart away for a long time. I enjoyed the mini games and the community. Because of the lack of staff I learned about the importance of using chat reports and recording hackers. Since then I have learned how to spot hackers and record what is needed. I have also learned what is acceptable in chat and what is not. That is my full history with Brawl/MVPVP that I can recall.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -
I have such little experience moderating servers that I would not call it "experience." The server I was granted Admin on pulled in about 30-40 people max per day. But...Because I was admin I was able to become familiar with staff commands. On top of my prior experience, I have contributed to my knowledge of commands using this forum.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? -
There are many reasons I want to become a Brawl moderator. As stated before I have put in lots of time into this server and I think that I have come to a point in my life where I want a change (a good change.) Because I have played on this server for as long as I can remember I know the in and outs of many game modes including minecraft party. Also, stated above I have noticed the lack of mods on party and I think that with a little bit of training I can help out the staff community and the gaming community on brawl positively. I am very passionate about helping brawl and the party community for the better.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -
Yes, I have used many hacked clients before. I have experience using tracers, anti KB and aim bot. I stopped using illegal clients a while back because I realized the risk of using them and what the outcome would be if I ever got exposed. Although because I have used hacked clients it gives me a leg up on what to look for in a player of interest.

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why?
    -
Yes, I have been both banned and muted. The reason I was banned was because I was accused of using a hacked client no slowdown. I appealed and it got accepted. Although my mute history... I have several mutes ranging from flaming, using foul language, being inappropriate, and being racist. Looking back on these mutes I regret saying such vulgar statements. I realized what I was doing to my self and my reputation here on brawl.Since then I have worked my hardest to not be as toxic as I was in the past. My efforts have paid off and I have been mute free for about 4 months.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
My greatest strength with no doubt is my ability to be being flexible in my decisions. I can also contribute positively to any situation whether it is trying to make a friend or developing a new game mode.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
My greatest weakness is staying on topic. I stated this is my last staff application as my weakness as well, I said that because I was very distracted back then based on a number of events prior. But since then, I have been trying to stay on topic most of the time and I have seen a positive improvements in my actions.

Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on?
    -
I am most active on minecraft party, followed by CTF, and lastly wild west.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? -
This is my fourth brawl staff application.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? -
    January 5, 2017

    Do you have TeamSpeak?
    Yes

Anything else you would like to state? -
First off, thank you for reading my staff application thus far.
PS. I am part of a regional invitational soccer club and I will continue to play until I can no longer. Because I am part of a regional team this means I travel lots during the soccer season (while writing this I am 200 miles away from home.) This means I wont be as active as I am use to in game but I will still put on a considerable amount of time during the week, weekend, and between soccer games. I do have my phone which I can access the forums from so my forums activity should not be a problem.
PPS. My last staff application was denied and I was told to apply on the server I am most active on. This was understandable because I do have days of playing time on Wild West, but I feel that I have been the most active on party for the past few months and this pole also shows what other people think of my activity on the servers. This pole has been posted for about a month on the brawl forums.
    - Best wishes - Purest

If your application is accepted, you will move on to an interview on TeamSpeak.

Please insert a Yes/ No poll below.

Easy +1, good luck. Only issue I have with this is you do not have many useful posts on the forums. Try to make more detailed and helpful posts more often.

Reading your staff application it's clear that you've put a lot of time and effort into brawl. Your application tells me that you're suitably mature enough for the role, and although you have made mistakes in the past you've decided to learn from them. I had a quick check on your forum activity and it also seems like you've been making a big effort to get involved with the community on the forums as well as in game. I would have liked to have seen a bit more activity on the forums before applying just because it's really important to interact but regardless I think you're ready for the position. A +1 from me, definitely.

Feelings of you becoming staff have already been stated many times by me in-game and on forums so I see no reason to repeat myself.

After reading through your application, I understand that you are dedicated to Party and in my opinion, you deserve a chance at JMOD. I am not very active on teamspeak, so I don't know how active you've been. By looking at your forum post count, I can see that you don't have many posts, but that should not affect your in-game performance. Overall, you have my +1! Good luck with your application.

    Hi xPurest,

I'm not sold on your application. After viewing your stats there's no question that you are both dedicated and active. You've also improved on your maturity given your 4 mute-less months since last December. But what isn't clear is what server you're the most dedicated to. For one thing you have, as of the last year, way more activity on CTF than I do. You have more time logged on KitPVP than some staff do. You also have a lot of time logged on Mc-WAR and Wild West and you're a sheriff on the latter.

I saw a poll you made on February 9, asking community members about what server they see you the most on. It was Party, but not by an overwhelming margin.

Only 37.52% for Party. There's not nessecarily anything wrong with that. I don't have an issue with someone playing multiple gamemodes at a time and then applying for J-MOD. But what I do have an issue with is someone who has not showed dedication to a server applying for a staff position on that server (we all know that moderators do not simply moderate on Brawl).

If you were dedicated to Party then you would be a household name by now. You would not have to or choose to make a poll asking community members what server they see you most active on so that "I don't want to get insta denied again for applying for a server that I am not active enough on" if you were.

Server staff have more sway over what goes and what doesn't, what ideas matter and what don't, than any non staff do. Your in game activity, you state that you've only been actively playing party for <3 months, lack of forums activity (I counted the number of posts you've made since your last staff application. Wild West: 20, Party: 20, and more profile posts than both of these combined), applications for CTF team membership, and ownership of a Wild West team (MEX) does not give me confidence that you will be the advocate for change that Party (or most any server you can think of) needs.

That said, most of the posts you've made in Party are quality posts. You've brought up a number of good ideas and have engaged in community discussions. For that you deserve credit. You really do. But when I read things like this (from your application):

"After my 35 days of playing time, Wild West no longer enticed me to play."

I'm not encouraged. For one thing, I doubt this ^^ is accurate because you created team MEX a week ago. For another, I have to wonder if you'll soon get tired of Minecraft Party too. If you get accepted what happens then? Will you resign?

I think you could make a fantastic staff member one day, but not yet.

Thank you for your constructive criticism first off. But just keep in mind, I have been actively involved in the community for a very long time. This is why I have so much playing on all different servers. Also, in the January brawl news I was the featured brawler. I think I was featured because of my diversity of game play and involvement in the community. As for the poll, it was a feature I was hoping to implement into my application to emphasize my involvement and my diversity of playing time on some of brawls servers, although because I am active on so many servers it is nice to know that most people recognize that I mainly play party. Regarding my posts, as stated many times before I am a very diverse player and I want to make an impact in the community in as many ways that I possibly can. I post on the wild west forums because I can be helpful and resolve some issues as well as put some input into the developing ideas. But as you stated, most of my party posts are quality posts and the fact that I have 20 means a lot. There are significantly less numbers of active forums posts in the party section due to many party players not being active on the forums. The reason I post in the party section with lots of ideas and ways to make money is because I see lots of potential in the game mode as it's players. Regarding team mex, yes, you are right I created a team thread for my team about a week ago but I have been in that team for well over 3 months and due to my inactivity only myself and my alts are in the team. I respect your rating but I hope this clears up some points that were not clear for you and players that I have never seen in game.

True and that's impressive. But you've only been active in Party very recently.

    Great. Keep it up.

It's fantastic that you want to make the community/Brawl in general a better place. What impact do you want to make on Party?

Sure. And I don't have an issue with that. There's nothing wrong with posting in forums other than the one related to the gamemode you're applying for. It's a sign of activity and a willingness to be helpful (or "make an impact on the community"). The only reason why I brought it up is because you aren't very active as far as the forums are concerned for the server you're applying for. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect a million posts or a dozen threads brimming with ideas. That's a ridiculous expectation to hold anyone up to. I would, however, like to not have to go back two weeks to find more than 3 posts relating to Party that aren't your J-MOD application.

How can anyone know what you want for Party if you don't make that many posts about it?

    Okay.

    I appreciate the explanation.

No problem. Judging by your response it's clear that you're active, mature, and knowledgeable. You could be a J-MOD today or tomorrow and I don't think there'd be an issue. However I'm not convinced that you will, if accepted, work to make a difference on Party. I think you should wait another month or two, continue to be active in the community (emphasis on Party), and reapply. Show how dedicated you really are I'll be more than happy to vote +1 then. Thanks for the response.
