Wiki Team Rank

What if I told you I know nothing about any of Brawl's game-modes except CTF?

In all seriousness it doesn't matter to me if wiki team has an in-game rank. I don't think there should be any additional perms allotted (especially since wiki team does all their business on the forums) but I don't see the harm in giving members a special name color so that 1) people know you're not some randy and are actually staff and 2) people know that you have the True Knowledge about various game-modes, mechanics, etc.

Bottom line, an in game rank (or some kind of distinction) could be useful but I don't see it being all that necessary. +0

 

The wiki rank is more of a forums rank. I don't really think it should be implemented in game. You can still answer questions without a rank and people don't really ask specific people questions, they just type it for everyone to see and anyone to answer.

 

Unless I'm afk nothing gets swooped away in the chat for me. You just need to actually read the chat properly then :3

Or maybe they can just talk to a mod?

This is a mods job, I think wikiteam could have an ingame tag but not for this.

Orrrrrr, instead of assuming the worst of people, think "hey. Maybe he noticed that builder has a rank and that he isn't as conceited as you think. xD"

 

Builder requires more time working than Wiki team and you could also need the rank in the Build server.

And yes, there's no point TheTitaniumTitan is interested just in the rank for in-game 'boast', he is already MVP.

 

Idk about you, but chaos has spent over 3 hours editing before. I think wiki team is sorely under-appreciated and under-exagerrated. We spend quite a lot of time discussing how best to word the wiki so that it may be better understood, we discuss what's important enough to go onto the wiki, new pictures, comparing information, comparing style and structure. All in the hopes that more players see its importance.

 

Not saying Wiki Team do nothing or me unappreciating it, the Wiki is important. I guess we can't comparate Wiki with Builder. I'm still thinking it does not need any in-game rank.

 

But what does builder do on Brawl (not the build team server) that requires them to have a tag?

 

They have ilimited maps in Build and some other special perms to modify maps.

 

But all the maps that need modifying are on the build server. And they can build unlimited amount of maps on the build server as well.

 

I can tell from my experience, build in the build server was a lonely work, if I can choose where to build, I'd prefer Build, just because you can participate in chat, usually easier to get other builders to build wit. Also this comes with a transition, in my first weeks as builder, majors told me to build something in Build, and so other Builders. It's not that long since builders started to build all the stuff in the build server.
Also, just a thought, but I might be wrong, for example, if you are editing the CTF wiki, you've added the kits info, game mechanics, official teams and whatnot, what else you do you have to add if you have finished it? Probably nothing, just re-read it, find some mistakes and probably that is all, except there's a new class (not a hard thing to write, you can finish it in one day) you have nothing else to do. And that goes with all the gamemodes, except when a new update comes out, you don't have too much to do. If a new gamemode comes out it will not take a month to finish a wiki by like 5 wiki editors. And Brawl do not get updates every day.
