Idea "Four Corners"

I've been thinking alot about something that the more prominent community members could do to "host" an event on Raid. I came to the conclusion of the idea of an event called "Four Corners". Essentially, the idea is that someone would run the map into the four different quadrants; ++,--,+-,-+. Then, this person would place a chest somewhere at random coordinates and put loot in it. Once all four quadrant chests had been "set" the person would then announce the coordinates. (If this is carried out, possibly a mod+ could broadcast the message). Then the objective for the community would to be to run to these coordinates and try to get some of the loot. In short, a full-map "treasure hunt". I think this would be a great idea to do, I'm just curious to see what everyone else thinks.
Please, leave your comments, concerns, or any additional ideas that could contribute to this.
Side Note: I think I may have read of someone doing this on an older map, but I am not sure. Let me know if someone did indeed do something like this so I can give them credit for the idea.

I am not opposed to this. I just thought it would be simpler for a trustworthy community member to run it. It would be easier for a community member to put this together than to get a coder to code it into the game. If they would, however, it would be fantastic. I also like the 50x50 idea, just because you get there first doesn't ensure you get all the loot, involves the PvP aspect which I like.

If you would like to help "officiate" the event, like broadcasting coordinates in chat, or selecting coordinates to keep it "fair" I can follow throw with the loot. If this is to be taken seriously, I need to create a poll thread, I want to know what time works for the majority of the community consistently, because I have more ideas to roll out that does not necessarily need staff to manage.

 

Yeah, I understand that. What I meant by "officiate" was that you could just aid in making sure no one is misbehaving, for lack of a better term. I would most likely do it during high level playing time, so there is a high potential either @Eil or @AnonymousGalaxy could be on to "officiate".

How would this take away from the hardcore aspect of Raid? Simply stating something adds nothing to the discussion, in the future it would be nice if you could explain your thinking so others can understand where you are coming from.
