What’s your position on Brawl? Administrator

How long have you been apart of the Brawl community? 4 years
What made you want to apply for staff? The first server I ever played on was Raid. I was one of those people that attempted to be truce with everyone, helped people out and always gave out loot in spawn :>. I wanted to help out way more than that. Worked on what I needed too, applied for Raid and got accepted.
How active are you in-game? Pretty active. Hop on a lot to bond with the community. I’m typically on Ctf, kitpvp or Raid. I hop on the other Brawl servers too.
When is the best time to find you online? Varies often (depends on work schedule). Normally around 12-4pm EST or at night.

Personal Questions:

What have you learned from being staff? When working with a large group of people the most IMPORTANT thing I’ve learned and I’m sure many have learned is patience. One of the main things I learned, especially in being a staff manager, is that I may not be able to please everyone with a decision you can get pretty darn close to it when you try hard enough. Learned a lot about compromising and managing 40+ people along with a community. Always listen to every perspective and opinion in order to formulate the best solution. Although it’s just a video game volunteering here can help anyone. When mistakes are made I’ve learned to just keep moving forward and learn from them. Aside from the business point of view, I’ve learned that everyone on here has a different story as to why they play etc., why it’s important to listen to each and everyone.

What are your strengths and weaknesses? Strengths: Knowing how to work with a team and caring (always wanting to help with personal issues). Weaknesses: I’m human too not a robot! At times something’s may get to me but I always step away from the situation for a bit to fully absorb the incident.

What was your hardest moment of being staff? Losing friends, they come and go. *hit’s it’s okay button*.
Do you have a best friend on Brawl? I have a lot of close friends if that counts. D;

What do you do in your free time? I’m a Psychology major, I work, Sing, Kick-box, Trail run, draw, dance, chill with le friends, do people’s makeup (certified makeup artist), travel.

What is the strangest thing you believed as a child? That pizza sauce was vampire blood. (I was like 4-7 years old when I thought this. Blame my sister.)

What is something about yourself that you hope will change, but probably never will (Skipping)

What’s something that amazes you? The ocean and how we don’t know much about down below yet we live near it. The universe as well.

What was the best news you ever received? It’s the minor things that make me really happy. Just being grateful for anything you can and never expect something to be received.

Which animals scare you most? Why? None, love them. Just gotta know how to respect them and their space xD

Do you prefer that people shoot straight with you or temper their words? Why? Either or I don’t mind. I’ve learned to know how to respond to both. But common courtesy to me, is tempered.

What do you think about more than anything else? Traveling but I always try to live for the moment.

Is there anything people should know about you? I’m very sarcastic. Try to make people laugh when I talk to them and love learning about people’s personal stories.

What have you learned from being staff?: That patience is a virtue. You can do just about anything with the right amount of patience, and precision. I've seen this apply to all aspects of life, school, work, family, and friends. Patience is not a trait to scoff at, but one I think most people should strive for.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?: Strengths: I stand up for whats right
Weaknesses: I care way too much about what others think of me

What was your hardest moment of being staff?: Brawl wise: Seeing all the servers I cared for slowly dissipate Personally: Seeing all my friends leave brawl, and slowly lose touch

What is something about yourself that you hope will change, but probably never will: The way I take what other people say about me to heart. Any insult or remark I'll worry about, and it kind of sucks, but hopefully that WILL change

What’s something that amazes you?: History, and seeing how things have unfolded throughout it. I find old kingdoms, societies, and ideas so interesting

What was the best news you ever received?: Personally, I have a lot of things to be grateful for, even though life can definitely be challenging. All my family and friends, are healthy, and happy. So that's enough for me

How long have you been apart of the Brawl community?
Since MCPVP shut down and CTF transferred to brawl.

What made you want to apply for staff?
A very generic answer, but helping the community. I felt at the time I couldn't do that through being a moderator due to in part the saturation of moderators in the gamemode I play, along with the lack of community support for me to do anything along those lines. Being a wiki-team member allows me to still do something for the community without having to worry about that lack of support. Little really has changed since then.

How active are you in-game?
I'm on pretty much every day

When is the best time to find you online?
Not that I'd be able to help much, but I'm pretty active in EU mornings, and I'm always active on discord so hmu if you have any questions

Personal Questions:

What have you learned from being staff?
I'd really like to say I've learned a lot, but sadly that's not the case. Wiki-team is a semi-staff (as I've already mentioned) so I'm excluded from all staff conversations aside from those involving the wiki. Essentially I'm a regular player with access to 1 chat about the wiki. I was told to get on with the job and that's about it. We don't get a handbook or anything.

The job is to update the wiki, it isn't to judge people in difficult situations, and so the only real skill I've gained from the job itself is formatting, which I'm getting marginally better at. If speaking to other mods counts then I guess? it doesn't really count either as they can't give us any more information than they can give regular players. The only other thing I could talk about is judging staff applications. My phrasing of specific strengths and weaknesses when replying to those has improved somewhat since I joined the wiki-team, but again, I could have learned the same thing through messaging them privately.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?
I mean I could go on for ages about this, so I'll just add a few of each-
+Organised
+Strong Work ethic
+Versatile, and can work alone or in a team

-Short tempered
-Dislike of waffle (getting to the point is important to me)
-Dislike of lies, will only say how I see it (this has annoyed a number of people over the years)

What was your hardest moment of being staff?
Being demoted for something for being inactive when I wasn't. Handling that response was rather interesting.

Yes, though I'll leave you guessing as to who that might be (like my particular favourites, you know who you are).

I honestly haven't got a clue. If there was something strange I believed as a child, it has long been forgotten about.

No, I'm pretty comfortable with who I am. I don't hope in this case. If I care about something enough to the point I want to change it, then I'll change it. If I never change, it's probably because I don't care enough about it.

Every grade I've ever received (because then I don't have to worry about them anymore).

Shoot straight, at least you know where you stand. A lie is more insulting to me than an insult.

What do you think about more than anything else?
I'm constantly preoccupied with at least one thing or another. I worry about friends, deal with situations, busy with my life. What I think about more than anything else changes rapidly. Right now, it's answering this questionnaire.

What’s your position on Brawl? I am a senior moderator, and I manage KitBrawl.

If a Mod, what server are you assigned to? KitBrawl

How long have you been apart of the Brawl community? I've been here as long as I can remember. I have been playing Brawl since 2012, but I didn't actually really get involved in the community, by joining TeamSpeak, forums, and whatnot until early 2016.

What made you want to apply for staff? Staffing is something I genuinely enjoy doing; I had done it a little bit on smaller servers, prior to becoming staff on Brawl. I also really wanted to be as helpful to Brawl as I could be, and applying for staff was the way I saw best fit. Maybe it took me a few attempts, but I got it eventually, and I am happy that I am here as a staff member today.

How active are you in-game? I am very active in-game. I love playing the various game-modes with everyone in this community.

When is the best time to find you online? Usually 3-7 PM EST.


Personal Questions:

What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Strengths: I feel I am a very open person, and that I am easy to talk to. I am trustworthy, and if I give you my word on something, I don't turn back on that. I know how to joke around, but I can and will get serious when the time comes.
Weaknesses: I can be very blunt with people if I want to be. I tend to hold grudges as well. I don't consider myself an unfriendly person, but if you somehow manage to piss me off (it isn't easy because I don't get mad easily), chances are that I may not be very forgiving.

What was your hardest moment of being staff? Tough to say, I really haven't had that difficult time here.. aside from the occasional DOX or DDOS. Also frustrating when community members are unable to acknowledge that I am just a volunteer, and that my best interest is in them and the server.

What do you do in your free time? I enjoy playing basketball, and hanging out with friends.

What’s your position on Brawl? I was originally a skywars JMOD, but once it was removed, I moved to wildwest and eventually WarZ. I was never really dedicated to just one server.

If a Mod, what server are you assigned to? ^^

How long have you been apart of the Brawl community? Not long, seeing as others have been here a very long time, I'd say that I started playing January of 2015, but I started getting more involved in the community in June/July of 2016.

What made you want to apply for staff? Seeing my friend (@wtfZack ) get the position, I really wanted to experience what it was like to be apart of a community. He encouraged me to apply, and helped me along the way, with my application, and introducing me to the staff rules and commands. (ILY ZACK)

How active are you in-game? When I was staff, I was on a lot. At times, I would have 150-200 hours a month (It was bad), but now I'll hop on every once in a while to play some WarZ or ctf.

When is the best time to find you online? I'm not in-game too often, but I'm on teamspeak normally around
4-11 CT

What have you learned from being staff?: To never trust anyone, it's the hard truth. You can never be 100% sure on anything, and being staff on brawl has certainly changed my aspect on what I tell people, as well as on what I believe.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?: Strengths: Im patient (most of the time)
Weaknesses: It's hard for me to actually care about things, this could be good, but it makes it difficult for me to care about anyone really.

What was your hardest moment of being staff?:
Seeing some of my closest friends resign, and eventually leave the server.

What do you do in your free time?: Lacrosse is what's I love to do, if I don't have practice, I'm usually at the gym or hanging out with my school friends.

What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?: That things that were illeagal, they were "against the log" instead of against the law.
What is something about yourself that you hope will change, but probably never will: I find that I do something wrong, I say I'll never do it again, but I know I will. It's something that I've always really done, I'd like to change it, but I know I won't.

What’s something that amazes you?: The medical field, and how far it's grown as time has gone on. Growing up, I've always wanted to be a doctor, and when I hear of the new procedures and medicines that people come up with, it truly amazes me, and I wonder about all the science behind it, how much hard work and dedication it took, and also how they came up with it.

What was the best news you ever received?: I personally cannot say, there's a lot of good things that happen to me, but recently, when I heard that my brother is graaduating high school, and going to the school of his dreams, really warms my heart, and I'm so proud of what he's done, and how much hard work he's put into school.

Is there anything people should know about you?: I'm Emily, I really am a kind-hearted, warm person (once you get to know me), I really have a passion for learning, and helping others. If I can make someone laugh, it makes my day. I'm a happy person, and I really love that. Not many things can bring me down, but when I do, I'm so damn lucky to have friends (irl and online) that support me.
